Worldly attitude.... only love redeems....

The worldly attitude harbours the greatest danger for the soul, for it is held back from spiritual striving, it is demanded to take the body into consideration.... thus the will, the thinking and feeling of man is only directed towards creating all comforts for the body. And consequently the soul is prevented from willing the spirit within it, the spiritual is therefore disregarded and the soul either stops in its higher development or it regresses if the physical desire predominates and the human being turns more and more towards the world. For the spiritual realm will never be compatible with the earthly realm.... Worldly fulfilment will never bring salvation to the soul, man can never walk above and below at the same time, he will always have to do one at the expense of the other. And people do not consider this.... All their endeavours are directed towards the comfort of the body, and the soul must live in want as soon as the body's desire is fulfilled. But in what error do people walk when they believe that they fulfil their duties to God by following external ceremonies.... What God demands of people is a living faith in Himself and His word, which must also result in acting in accordance with the word of God. This word teaches the transience of everything earthly, and it gives knowledge of the meaning and purpose of life on earth and of the state of the soul after bodily death.... According to the word of God, life on earth must now be lived in order to shape the state of the soul after death into one full of light. And therefore everything that is earthly, i.e. transient, must be disregarded and only the imperishable soul must be considered as long as the human being remains on earth. However, the soul cannot develop progressively as long as it is prevented by physical desire from uniting with the spirit within itself. And the latter can only happen through working in love.... The neighbour must be considered more than one's own body, the human being must put aside his own "I" and be absorbed in loving his fellow human beings.... However, he who thinks only of himself is still so earthbound that it is difficult for him to detach himself from the earth.... Selfish love is the greatest obstacle to ascent, for selfish love is the opposite of neighbourly love, and only neighbourly love is truly redeeming, only neighbourly love signifies spiritual progress for the soul, and only neighbourly love shapes the human being in accordance with God's will. But every action that lacks neighbourly love is a purely formal act, something external that has no inner value and does not contribute in the slightest to the soul's transformation. Only love redeems, and if a person does not practice love, his soul will be lost for eternity....

Enfoque mundano.... Solo el amor redime....

El enfoque mundano conlleva el mayor peligro para el alma, porque se le impide el esfuerzo espiritual, se le pide la consideración del cuerpo, se le está exigiendo la consideración del cuerpo.... Entonces, la voluntad, el pensamiento y el sentimiento del hombre solo está dirigido a crear todas las comodidades para el cuerpo. Y, en consecuencia, se impide que el alma para esté a la voluntad del espíritu en ella, por lo tanto, lo espiritual se ignora y el alma se detiene en su desarrollo superior o retrocede cuando predomina el deseo corporal y el hombre se orienta más y más al mundo. Porque el reino espiritual nunca será compatible con el mundo terrenal.... Los cumplimientos de los deseos mundanos nunca traerán la salvación al alma, el hombre nunca puede andar arriba y abajo al mismo tiempo, siempre tendrá que hacer una cosa a expensas de la otra. Y la gente no piensa en esto.... Todos sus esfuerzos sirven al bienestar del cuerpo y el alma tiene que sufrir, tan pronto como se cumplan los deseos del cuerpo.

Pero en que error caminan los hombres cuando creen que están cumpliendo con los deberes de Dios cuando realizan ceremonias externas.... Lo que Dios exige de los hombres es una creencia viva en Él Mismo y Su Palabra, que también debe tener como resultado el obrar de acuerdo con la palabra de Dios. Esta palabra enseñas la fugacidad de todo lo terrenal, y da conocimiento del significado y propósito de la vida en la tierra y del estado del alma después de la muerte física....

La vida en la tierra ahora debe ser vivida de acuerdo con la palabra de Dios para que el estado del alma después de la muerte sea lleno de luz. Y, por lo tanto, todo lo que es terrenal, es decir, perecedero, debe ignorarse y solo el alma imperecedera debe tenerse en cuenta mientras el hombre esté en la tierra. Pero el alma no puede desarrollarse progresivamente mientras el deseo físico le impida unirse con el espíritu dentro de sí mismo. Y esto último solo puede lograrse por obrar en amor....

El prójimo debe ser considerado más que el propio cuerpo, el hombre tiene que posponer su propio “Yo” y levantarse en el obrar amoroso para sus semejantes.... Sin embargo, quien piense solo en sí mismo todavía está tan terrestre que le resulta difícil separarse de la tierra.... El amor propio es el mayor obstáculo para la altura, porque el amor propio es lo contrario al amor al prójimo, y solo el amor al prójimo es verdaderamente redentor, solo el amor al prójimo significa progreso espiritual para el alma, y solo el amor al prójimo forma al hombre según la voluntad de Dios. Pero cada acción que carece de amor al prójimo es una acción puramente formal, algo externo, que no tiene valor interno y no contribuye en lo más mínimo a la transformación del alma. Solo el amor redime, y si el hombre no practica el amor, su alma se pierde por la eternidad.... Amén
