Love activity spiritual progress....

Everything that can be described as a labour of love is conducive to the soul's higher development, thus every labour of love is spiritual progress. But then also every overcoming of earthly desires as well as the resistance against all evil is to be seen as such, for the latter means a weakening of the opposing power and an increase of one's own strength. Man must inevitably reach the heights if he only longs upwards, towards God, and wants to escape the depths by believing in Jesus Christ, the divine saviour and conqueror of death. For anyone who asks God for strength in faith in Him will also receive it, and every influx of strength from God has to increase the soul's state of maturity and signify the being's spiritual advancement. And again only the strength of will is decisive as to whether the path upwards has to be travelled with great struggle or without a fight. For when the will is still weak the adversary also struggles to turn the will towards himself again and then it requires inner struggle to become master of the adversary. A strong will, i.e., a will which is unconditionally turned towards God, is not a field of attack for the adversary and therefore the spiritual resistance will not be so great. Yet the human being can easily overcome all opposition if he is active in love, for then God Himself will support him. He does a work for his neighbour which reduces his hardship, thus God distributes the same, He also reduces his hardship and helps where the human being is in danger of failing. And therefore the human being who is active in love must inevitably ascend, his state of soul must reach a certain maturity, for he is in love and therefore also in God,.... for God Himself is love....

L’attività d’amore è progresso spirituale

E’ di promozione per lo sviluppo verso l’Alto dell’anima tutto ciò che può essere chiamato esecuzione di un’opera d’amore, quindi ogni opera dell’amore è un progresso spirituale. Ma allora è anche da considerare come tale ogni superamento di brame terrene, come la resistenza contro tutto il maligno, perché questo significa un indebolimento del potere avverso ed un aumento della propria forza. L’uomo deve inevitabilmente giungere in Alto, se soltanto desidera giungervi, cioè a Dio, e voglia sfuggire all’abisso nella fede in Gesù Cristo, il divino Redentore e Vincitore della morte. Perché chi chiede a Dio la Forza nella fede in Lui, a costui viene anche trasmessa, ed ogni apporto di Forza da Dio deve aumentare lo stato di maturità dell’anima e significare per l’essere un ulteriore sviluppo spirituale. E nuovamente è determinante solamente la forza della volontà, se la via verso l’Alto dev’essere percorsa con grande lotta oppure senza questa. Perché con una volontà ancora debole lotta anche l’avversario per rivolgere di nuovo la volontà a sé stesso, ed allora richiede una lotta interiore per vincere l’avversario. Una forte volontà, cioè una volontà che è rivolta a Dio incondizionatamente, non è nessun campo d’attacco per l’avversario, e perciò le resistenze spirituali non saranno così grandi. Ma l’uomo può superare con facilità tutte le resistenze, se è attivo nell’amore, perché allora Dio Stesso lo assiste. Lui compie un’opera al prossimo che diminuisce la sua miseria, quindi Dio distribuisce lo stesso, Egli diminuisce anche la sua miseria ed aiuta là dove l’uomo minaccia di fallire. E perciò l’uomo che è attivo nell’amore, dev giungere inevitabilmente in Alto, lo stato della sua anima deve giungere ad una certa maturità, perché sta nell’amore e di conseguenza è anche in Dio, perché Dio Stesso E’ l’Amore.
