Inner voice....

Anyone who does not close himself to the voice of the heart must inevitably do what is pleasing to God, for this voice only sounds where the human being strives towards God, i.e., as soon as he has turned away from God, the inner voice keeps silent.... but not that it also speaks and could persuade man to do evil. The person who gives in to the urging of evil forces.... i.e. does what is contrary to God's will.... will never again hear inner cries of admonition or warning. He has silenced the voice within him by not obeying it when it admonished or warned him. So if the voice in the heart sounds, it is always the divine voice, and what it tells man to do will always be right before God. A person can therefore never act wrongly if he respects his inner voice and obeys it, because he has the will to do good and therefore cannot act wrongly. Only if he has not yet freed himself from worldly desires, if he wants to fulfil earthly desires, then the enemy will tempt him through these earthly desires, and he will hold all earthly pleasures and desires against the urging of the heart. And then the danger is that the inner voice is not heeded. Then the body has gained the upper hand over the heart. And man's will has turned towards that which it should overcome. So that will always be the measure of when the divine will is fulfilled, whether the body and its desires are complied with or whether what the human being does and thinks is of benefit to the soul. And the voice of the heart will always demand that a person do what is beneficial to the soul, but will never sound in favour of the body's desires. Anyone who seriously wants to fulfil God's will will also hear the inner voice clearly enough, he will always know what God requires of him, he will just sometimes lack the strength to carry it out.... but then he only needs to pray and the strength will come to him. His will and his prayer can do everything. However, if he lacks one of the two, his life is a struggle and a fight until he asks sincerely and wills wholeheartedly.... The will of man can accomplish everything if it is united with the divine will. And prayer should therefore apply to the still weak will, for what is incomprehensible to the human being becomes clear to him if he regards himself as a work of God's creation which is inseparable from its creator. And therefore the being is also in constant contact with Him and need only want to feel this connection.... through the divine voice which constantly instructs the human being what he should and should not do.... Yet whether he listens to it depends solely on his will, for God certainly admonishes and warns all His living creations but He does not force them to obey Him....

내면의 음성.

심장의 음성에 자신을 닫지 않는 사람은 필연적으로 하나님을 기쁘게 하는 일을 해야만 한다. 왜냐하면 단지 하나님을 추구하는 사람들에게 이 음성이 들리기 때문이다. 다시 말해 사람이 하나님을 외면하자마자, 내면의 음성은 침묵한다. 그러나 내면의 음성이 다시 말하여, 사람들이 악을 행하는 일을 막지 않는다. 그는 악한 세력의 충동에 굴복하는 사람이 된다. 그러므로 그는 하나님의 뜻에 어긋나는 일을 행하고, 더이상 내적인 경고나 권면의 부름을 듣지 못한다. 그는 내면의 음성이 자신에게 훈계하거나, 경고할 때, 순종하지 않음으로써, 자신 안의 내면의 음성을 침묵하게 했다.

그러므로 내면의 음성이 심장 안에서 들리면, 그 일은 항상 하나님의 음성이고, 사람에게 하라고 하는 일은 항상 하나님 앞에 옳은 일이 될 것이다. 그러므로 자신의 내면의 음성을 존중하고, 그에 순종하는 사람은 결코 잘못된 행동을 할 수 없다. 왜냐하면 그는 선을 행하려는 의지가 있고, 그러므로 악하게 행동할 수 없기 때문이다. 그가 단지 아직 세상의 욕망으로부터 해방되지 않은 경우에만, 그가 세상의 욕망을 성취시키기를 원한다면, 원수가 이런 세상적인 욕망을 이용해 그를 유혹한다. 원수는 사람에게 심장의 충동대로 세상의 모든 기쁨과 정욕을 제공한다.

그러면 사람이 내면의 음성에 주의를 기울이지 않을 위험이 있다. 그러면 심장보다 육체가 주도권을 차지하고, 인간의 의지가 극복해야 할 것으로 향한다. 그러므로 언제 하나님의 뜻을 성취시킬지, 그의 육체와 육체의 욕망을 충족시킬지, 또는 사람이 행하고 생각하는 것이 혼의 유익을 위한 것인지가 항상 기준이 될 것이다. 심장의 음성은 항상 사람이 혼에 유익한 일을 행하도록 요구할 것이지만, 그러나 결코 육체의 욕망을 위하라는 음성을 들려주지 않을 것이다.

진지하게 하나님의 뜻을 성취시키기를 원하는 사람은 내면의 음성을 충분하게 들을 수 있고, 하나님이 그에게 무엇을 요구하는 지를 항상 알게 된다. 단지 때로는 그에게 그 일을 수행할 힘이 부족하다. 그러나 그러면 그는 단지 기도하면, 그에게 힘이 주어지게 될 것이다. 그의 뜻과 그의 기도로 모든 일을 할 수 있다. 그러나 둘 중에 하나가 부족하다면, 그의 삶은, 그가 긴밀하게 구하고, 전적으로 진지하게 원할 때까지, 투쟁과 씨름이 된다.

인간의 의지가 하나님의 뜻과 연결될 때, 모든 일을 성취시킨다. 그러므로 아직 약한 의지를 위해 기도해야 한다. 왜냐하면 사람이 자기 자신을 창조주와 떼어 놓을 수 없는 하나님의 창조물이라고 생각할 때, 그가 이해할 수 없는 일이, 그에게 선명해지기 때문이다. 그러므로 존재는 하나님과 지속적으로 연결되어 있고, 단지 이런 연결을 하나님의 음성을 통해 느끼기를 원하기만 하면 된다. 하나님의 음성은 사람들에게 무엇을 해야 하고 무엇을 하지 말아야 할지를 끊임없이 가르친다. 그러나 그가 이런 가르침을 들을 지 여부는 전적으로 그의 의지에 달려 있다. 왜냐하면 하나님은 실제 자신의 모든 피조물들을 훈계하고 경고하지만, 그러나 그들에게 순종하도록 강요하지 않기 때문이다.
