Bearing the cross in patience and surrender....

Unlimited possibilities open up to the human being as long as he is willing to shape himself according to God's will, that is, as long as he consciously works on his soul. From the hour of realizing that his purpose on earth is the higher education of his soul, his earthly course is an endless series of opportunities where he can attain this spiritual maturity through self-conquest and active neighbourly love. And so his earthly life will bring trials from the very beginning in which he should prove himself.... Nor will it pass him by without a fight, but it is precisely in the struggle that his will will be strengthened and his strength increased. So life will appear to him to consist of opposition and hardship much sooner than he will be able to indulge in unclouded joy of life. These are the first cliffs on which his little ship of life must not be wrecked; he must steer it round all cliffs with a sure hand and with faithful trust in God, only then will he prove himself and utilize the opportunities for higher spiritual development. Jesus Christ Himself made it a task for people with the words: Whoever wants to follow Me must willingly take up his cross.... He does not say that He wants to take away their cross, that He wants to relieve them; on the contrary, He announces to them that following Jesus consists of bearing the cross that He imposes on people. The unspeakable suffering that Jesus Christ took upon Himself was the atonement for mankind's great guilt of sin. He bore His cross without grumbling or complaining. What He endured for mankind thus cancelled their guilt, as it were. Whoever wants to follow Jesus must therefore also atone for sinful humanity, i.e. bear the suffering that humanity has brought upon itself through sin. Love for one's fellow human being should now move the person to bear suffering for his sin, i.e. to reduce the guilt of sin through suffering and thereby be active on earth in a redeeming way. And the loving person will also always be willing to do so, for his soul knows about the downtrodden situation of those who are entangled in great guilt of sin and wants to help them. And therefore every loving person will not rebel against divine will if the latter imposes a cross on him and his earthly life no longer passes by in quiet peacefulness. He knows that an existence without a fight would not be suitable for the soul's higher development and thus he will not rebel either, even if the cross seems unbearable to him. And therefore the human being should not be despondent if his life appears to be more difficult than that of his fellow human being, yet God does not impose a heavier fate on the human being than he can endure, and it is the strength from God which makes this cross easier for him.... It is the supply of strength which man can consciously ask for, but which must also be asked for.... But then every cross, no matter how heavy it seems, is no longer as heavy a burden as before. But taking up the cross of Christ means submitting to everything that God sends upon man without grumbling or resistance. For the slightest resistance cancels out the working of divine power, and the human being must struggle hard so that he can remain victorious in the battle of life and already be able to be redemptively active on earth.... He only ever has to recognize God's love in all suffering, in the cross imposed on him, which wants to let the human being attain spiritual perfection and is the quickest and surest way to take up the cross in all patience and submission to God's will and to follow the divine lord and saviour....

Llevar la cruz con paciencia y devoción....

Existen posibilidades infinitas para el hombre, en cuanto esté preparado de formarse según la voluntad de Dios, siempre que esté trabajando en su alma conscientemente. Desde la hora del conocimiento que el propósito de su vida es el desarrollo ascendente de su alma, su curso de la vida es una secuencia infinita de oportunidades en la cual puede llegar a la madurez espiritual a través de la autosuperación y obras activas de caridad al semejante. Y entonces su vida terrestre traerá a partir de entonces pruebas en las cuales se debe aprobar.... Tampoco pasará sin luchas, sino justamente en la lucha se forjará su voluntad y su fuerza aumentará. Entonces su vida estará llena de obstáculos y penurias antes de que se pueda perderse en alegrías de la vida. Son las primeras rocas en las cuales el barco de la vida no debe estallar; debe guiarlo con mano segura y en confianza creyente en Dios en alrededor de las rocas, entonces se aprueba y utiliza las posibilidades de un ascenso en el desarrollo. Jesucristo Mismo lo dio como tarea a los hombre con las palabras: Aquel que Me quiere seguir tiene que llevar su cruz con voluntad.... No dijo que le iba a quitar su cruz, que Él les apoyara: Al contrario les anunció que la sucesión de Cristo contiene llevar la cruz que Él les había propuesto para cada uno. La miseria indecible que Jesucristo había aguantado fue la redención para la gran culpa del pecado de la humanidad. Llevó a Su cruz sin quejas. Lo que aguantó para la humanidad quitó a la vez toda su culpa. Aquel que quiere seguir a Jesucristo tiene que sufrir igualmente para la humanidad pecadora, es decir aguantar el sufrimiento que la humanidad ha cargado por su pecado. El amor hacia el semejante debe mover al hombre a llevar el sufrimiento por el pecado de los cuales, es decir disminuir a través de la penuria la culpa del pecado y trabajar salvando en la tierra. Y el hombre cariñoso siempre estará dispuesto, porque su alma sabe de la situación esclavizada de aquellos que están metidos en la culpa del pecado, y les quieren ayudar. Y cada hombre que esté metido en el amor no se rebela contra la voluntad divina, en cuanto se le ha cargado con una cruz y ya no pasa su vida con paz tranquila. Sabe que una vida sin lucha no sería buena para el desarrollo ascendente de su alma, y entonces no se rebela aunque la cruz le parezca insoportable. Y por esto el hombre no debe rendirse si su vida parece más difícil que la de sus semejantes, pero Dios tampoco carga el hombre con un destino demasiado difícil que podría soportar, y es la fuerza de Dios que le hace fácil llevar esta cruz.... Es la transmisión de fuerza la cual el hombre puede pedir conscientemente y la cual se tiene que rogar.... Pero entonces cualquier cruz que parezca ser difícil ya no es una carga difícil como hubiera sido antes. Llevar la cruz de Cristo significa aceptar todo con devoción y sin quejas, lo que Dios ha mandado sobre los hombres. Porque el rechazo más disminuido levanta a la fuerza divina y el hombre tiene que luchar mucho para salir con victoria de la vida terrestre y para poder trabajar salvando ya en la tierra.... Solo tiene que reconocer en todo el sufrimiento, en la cruz que se la ha impuesto llevar, el amor de Dios la cual quiere llevar el hombre a la perfección espiritual y que es el camino más rápido y seguro para poder llevar la cruz con toda paciencia y devoción en la voluntad de Dios para seguir al Señor y Salvador divino....
