Measures taken by earthly power against faith in Jesus Christ....

It remains a futile endeavour of the world to completely detach people from Christ, that is, to alienate His name from them and to eradicate His teaching. Although it will appear as if the worldly power is to succeed in this, it will only be able to force people to deny Jesus Christ up to a certain limit, but then it will also work for it to the same extent as against it. And Jesus' disciples will also have a power at their disposal that far surpasses worldly power. Only by invoking His name will they accomplish things which are impossible for worldly power, and this will increase the number of Jesus' followers, and then people's faith will come alive and the reputation of worldly power will diminish to the same extent as faith in Jesus Christ will grow. And the earthly power will not look upon it with favour, it will rather try with all its might to shake the faith in Jesus Christ; it will adopt a threatening attitude and threaten the harshest punishments to those who stand up for the spreading of the divine word and thus profess to be followers of Jesus. These will have to bow to earthly power and will be subjected to great tribulations. But even if it may seem earthly, as if all power is on their side, they will be unable to do anything against the power of faith of those who fight for God. These will manifest themselves through obvious signs and wonders that God Himself works in and through the believers. And where the believers no longer know what to do, there God Himself will appear and tell people what they should do, and people will speak when and how God wills it, and all measures which the world and its representatives take in order to eradicate faith in God, in the divine saviour, will be weak human work. They will have little success and this will increase their indignation to such an extent that they will make decrees upon decrees, but without real success, without reaching their goal. Many will certainly fall away from faith in Jesus Christ during this time, but those who stand firm and profess Him will endure the harshest trials; they will no longer surrender what they possess because Jesus Christ means far more to them than what earthly power can ever offer them....

예수 그리스도를 믿는 믿음에 대적하는 세상의 권세의 조치.

사람들을 그리스도로부터 완전히 분리시키는 일을 시작하는 이은, 즉 사람들로부터 그리스도의 이름을 멀어지게 하고 그의 가르침을 근절시키는 일을 시작하는 일은 세상이 성공할 수 없는 일을 시작하는 것이다. 세상의 권세가 성공하는 것처럼 보일지라도, 그러나 어느 정도까지만 사람들에게 예수 그리스도를 부인하도록 강요할 수 있다. 그러면 그 후에는 같은 정도로 그런 조치에 대항하는 일이 일어날 것이다.

예수님의 제자들은 또한 세상의 권세를 훨씬 능가하는 권세를 갖게 될 것이다. 그들은 단지 예수 그리스도의 이름을 부르는 가운데 세상의 권세에게 불가능한 일을 이룰 수 있다. 이런 일이 예수님을 따르는 사람의 수를 증가시키게 될 것이고, 사람들의 믿음은 더욱 생명력이 있게 되고, 예수 그리스도를 믿는 믿음이 성장함에 따라, 같은 정도로 세상 권세의 명성은 줄어들게 될 것이다.

이 땅의 권세는 이런 일을 마음에 들어 하지 않고, 오히려 예수 그리스도를 믿는 믿음을 흔들기 위해 온 힘을 다할 것이다. 이 땅의 권세는 위협적인 태도를 취하고, 하나님의 말씀의 전파를 위해 일하는, 따라서 예수의 추종자라고 공언하는 사람들에게 가장 가혹한 처벌로 위협을 할 것이다. 이런 사람들은 이 땅의 권세에 순복해야 하고, 큰 환난을 당하게 될 것이다.

그러나 세상적으로는 모든 권세가 세상의 권세 편에 있는 것처럼 보일 수 있지만, 세상 권세는 하나님을 위해 싸우는 사람들의 믿음의 힘에 대항할 수 없다. 이런 사람들은 하나님 자신이 믿는 사람들을 안에서, 믿는 사람들을 통해 역사하는 명백한 표적과 기사를 통해 자신을 나타낼 것이다. 믿는 사람들이 더 이상 무엇을 해야 할지 모르는 곳에서 하나님 자신이 나타나, 사람들에게 무엇을 해야 하는 지 알려줄 것이고, 사람들은 하나님이 원하는 때와 방법으로 말하게 될 것이고, 세상과 세상의 대리자들이 하나님을 믿고, 하나님의 구세주를 믿는 믿음을 없애기 위해 취할 모든 조치들이 연약한 인간의 역사가 될 것이다.

세상의 권세는 적은 성공을 하게 될 것이다. 이런 일이 그들이 아주 분노하게 하여, 그들이 조치 위해 조치를 취하게 만들 것이다. 그러나 그들은 진정한 성공을 하지 못하고, 그들의 목표를 달성하지 못하게 될 것이다. 이 때에 많은 사람이 예수 그리스도를 믿는 믿음을 버리게 될 것이다. 그러나 예수 그리스도를 믿는 믿음을 지키고, 예수 그리스도를 고백하는 사람은 이제 가장 혹독한 시련을 견디게 될 것이다. 그들은 더 이상 가지고 있는 것을 포기하지 않을 것이다. 왜냐하면 그들에게 예수 그리스도는 이 땅의 능력이 그들에게 제공할 수 있는 것보다 훨씬 더 많은 것을 의미하기 때문이다.
