Maturing the soul in the world....

The human soul remains undeveloped in the world's activity as long as it cannot detach itself in hours of quiet contemplation or establish contact with God through eager activity of love, for which it is also given ample opportunity in the midst of the world. And yet the human being is placed in it so that he can overcome the world and find the path to God in it, because this requires increased willpower. If the human being closes himself off from the world, his merit is less, for he avoids all temptations and oppositions, he does not need to fight the battle to which the human being is exposed who does not flee from the world. The greater the oppositions, the more strength they require, but the greater the success the soul can achieve if it overcomes all oppositions. And that is why great demands are made on the human being which he should not evade. He has to fulfill his task earthly, he has to be exposed to earthly temptations, but nothing should prevent him from seeking the intimate connection with God, because from this he also draws his strength to fulfill the earthly demands. Nevertheless, he will also be able to be spiritually active if this is what his will strives for. However, if the human being neither lives in love nor finds time for inner contemplation which introduces him to the spiritual kingdom, he will remain at the same spiritual degree of maturity or even develop regressively if matter captivates him and he is devoid of all love. In that case he will live his life on earth in vain, but even seclusion would not change such a person spiritually but only make him grumpy and dissatisfied because spiritual striving is alien to him and he cannot fulfill his earthly desires. A person can make God his own in every situation in life if his heart urges him to do so, and therefore he can also serve God always and everywhere, the hustle and bustle of the world will often give him enough opportunity to serve his neighbor, while in solitude a person lives only for himself and is hindered in his work of love. The latter, however, brings man to maturity, for it brings him closer to God, and therefore every opportunity should be used to practice serving charity. In the hustle and bustle of the world there are often greater opportunities for man's development, for hardship and suffering require help, which every human being can provide for his fellow human being, and spiritual hardship is also particularly great in the midst of the world, and this is also a field of work where man can be particularly successful. And this is why God calls His servants in the midst of the world, and He presents the adversity of fellow human beings to them so that they will now work diligently, so that they will practice love and give love in the midst of the world and, in hours of inner contemplation, gain the strength to overcome all temptations and oppositions of the world, and thus can also mature in the midst of the world to the height....

Maduración del alma en el engranaje del mundo....

En el ajetreo y bullicio del mundo, el alma humana permanece subdesarrollada mientras no pueda separarse en horas de tranquilla contemplación o establecer una conexión con Dios a través de un celoso trabajo de amor, que se le da la plena oportunidad de hacer, incluso en medio del mundo. Y, sin embargo, el hombre está colocado en ello para poder superar al mundo y encontrar en ello el camino hacia Dios, porque esto requiere una mayor fuerza de voluntad. Si una persona se cierra al mundo, su mérito es menor porque evita todas las tentaciones y resistencias; no necesita librar la lucha a la que está expuesta una persona que no se escapa del bullicio y ajetreo del mundo.

Cuanto mayor es la resistencia, más fuerza requiere, pero mayor es el éxito que el alma puede alcanzar cuando supera toda resistencia. Y por eso se impone grandes exigencias al hombre que no debe evadir. Debe cumplir su tarea terrenal, debe estar expuesto a las tentaciones terrenas, pero nada debe impedirle buscar una conexión íntima con Dios, porque de ahí también saca su fuerza para cumplir las exigencias terrenales. Aún podrá espiritualmente activo si eso es lo que quiere.

Pero si una persona ni vive en el amor ni encuentra tiempo para reflexiones interiores que le introduzcan en el reino espiritual, permanecerá en el mismo nivel de madurez espiritual o se desarrolla hacia atrás si la materia le cautiva y está desprovisto de todo amor. Entonces vive su vida en la tierra en vano, pero ni siquiera esta reclusión cambiaría espiritualmente a esa persona, sino que sólo la haría gruñona e insatisfecha porque el esfuerzo espiritual les es ajeno y no puede satisfacer sus deseos terrenales.

El hombre puede entregarse a Dios en todas las situaciones de la vida y su corazón lo impulsa a hacerlo, y así también puede servir a Dios siempre en todas partes; el ajetreo y el bullicio del mundo le dará a menudo la oportunidad para ser activo en el servicio a prójimo, mientras que la persona en la soledad sólo vive para sí sola y se ve obstaculizado en el trabajo del amor. Pero esto último lleva al hombre a la madurez por lo acerca a Dios y, por lo tanto, se debe aprovechar cada oportunidad para practicar el servicio al amor al prójimo.

En el ajetreo y bullicio del mundo a menudo se pueden ver mayores oportunidades de desarrollo para las personas, porque las necesidades y los sufrimientos requieren la ayuda de cada ser humano puede brindar a sus semejantes, y la necesidad terrenal también es extraordinariamente grande en medio del mundo y éste también es un campo de actividad en el que la gente puede tener mucho éxito. Y por eso Dios llama a sus siervos en medio del mundo, y les presenta las necesidades de sus semejantes, para que ahora puedan trabajar con diligencia, para que practiquen el amor y den amor en medio del mundo, y en horas de contemplación interior ganar la fuerza para superar todas las tentaciones y para vencer las resistencias del mundo, y hacer madurar hacia lo alto en medio del mundo....
