Overcoming resistance.... power supply - good or evil....

All success is based on overcoming resistance, and so the soul can only develop upwards if it masters the resistance placed in its way by the opposing power. Without resistance there is no development of strength and therefore no further development. For the latter is synonymous with increased strength, i.e. an increase in that which is the original substance of all spirituality. The spiritual can only mature in itself through union with the same spiritual, therefore strength must be increased through the influx of strength. But the latter must be requested, i.e., through the will to resist the being must keep itself ready to receive this influx, which is never denied to it. Readiness to receive is also the believing prayer, which man sends up to God full of trust, because then he opens his heart to every supply of favour, which always means supply of power for him. Prayer is the most successful resistance insofar as that man requests strength from God for his battles, that he so to speak lets Him defeat the resistance and nevertheless matures his soul through exactly this supply of favour. Man acquires this through his will, which strives towards God and is accepted by God's love, thus the prayer is answered. The human being need by no means fear that his request will not be granted if he presents his need to Him in complete faith, if he admits his lack of strength to Him and asks for an increase.... if he is willing to resist and only feels too weak to do so.... Then God will surely grant him His assistance, He will take care of his weakness and the soul will not fail to succeed. However, a person will never be able to overcome the obstacles given to him by his own strength. But he can certainly also be supported by the opposing side, but then the will for God will never dominate men, but the will for counter power will be clearly recognizable by the worldly attitude of him, to whom now also nothing seems to be insurmountable. God's adversary equips him with strength because he is in bondage to him, and therefore that human being who is apostate from God and obviously turned towards the adversary is often able to achieve great things or overcome the greatest resistance.... for his strength is likewise increased, yet not for the soul's progress but for the increase of that which is beneficial for the body, which always signifies a spiritual regression. He may have apparent success, i.e. material success, but spiritually he will become increasingly less powerful, for he turns away from the original source of strength and therefore cannot be flooded by Him either. Without a supply of strength from God, however, there is no progress but only a spiritual decline, i.e. an ever-increasing distance from God....

Überwindung des Widerstandes.... Kraftzufuhr - gute oder böse....

Jeglicher Erfolg beruht auf Überwindung des Widerstandes, und so kann sich auch die Seele nur zur Höhe entwickeln, so sie der Widerstände Herr wird, die ihr von der Gegenmacht in den Weg gelegt werden. Es gibt ohne Widerstand keine Entfaltung der Kraft und also auch keine Fortentwicklung. Denn letztere ist gleichbedeutend mit vermehrter Kraft, d.h. ein Zunehmen dessen, was Ursubstanz alles Geistigen ist. Das Geistige kann nur in sich reifen durch Zusammenschluß mit gleichem Geistigen, also Kraft muß durch den Zustrom von Kraft vermehrt werden. Letztere aber muß angefordert werden, d.h., durch den Willen zum Widerstand muß das Wesen sich empfangsbereit halten für diesen Zustrom, der ihm niemals verwehrt wird. Empfangsbereitschaft ist auch das gläubige Gebet, das der Mensch voll Vertrauen zu Gott emporsendet, denn dann öffnet er sein Herz jeder Gnadenzuwendung, die immer Kraftzufuhr für ihn bedeutet. Es ist das Gebet der erfolgreichste Widerstand insofern, als daß der Mensch sich zu seinem Kämpfen Kraft erbittet von Gott, daß er gewissermaßen Ihn den Widerstand besiegen läßt und dennoch seine Seele dadurch ausreifet durch eben jene Gnadenzuwendung. Diese erwirbt sich der Mensch durch seinen Willen, der Gott zustrebt und von Gottes Liebe angenommen, also das Gebet erhört wird. Es wird der Mensch keineswegs bangen brauchen, daß seine Bitte ihm nicht erfüllt wird, wenn er in vollster Gläubigkeit Ihm seine Not vorträgt, wenn er seinen Kraftmangel Ihm eingesteht und um Vermehrung bittet.... wenn er bereit ist, Widerstand zu leisten, und sich nur zu schwach dazu fühlt.... Dann wird Gott ihm Seinen Beistand sicher gewähren, Er wird Sich seiner Schwäche annehmen, und der Erfolg für die Seele wird nicht ausbleiben. Aus eigener Kraft aber wird der Mensch niemals der Widerstände Herr werden, die ihm zur Überwindung gegeben wurden. Wohl aber kann er auch von gegnerischer Seite unterstützt werden, dann aber wird niemals der Wille zu Gott die Menschen beherrschen, sondern der Wille zur Gegenmacht wird deutlich zu erkennen sein an der weltlichen Einstellung dessen, dem nun auch nichts unüberwindlich zu sein scheint. Ihn stattet der Gegner Gottes mit Kraft aus, weil er ihm hörig ist, und daher vermag oft der Mensch Großes zu leisten oder die größten Widerstände zu überwinden, der Gott abtrünnig und offensichtlich dem Gegner zugewandt ist.... denn dessen Kraft wird gleichfalls vermehrt, doch nicht zum Fortschritt für die Seele, sondern zur Vermehrung dessen, was dem Körper zuträglich ist, was allemal einen geistigen Rückschritt bedeutet. Scheinbaren Erfolg, d.h. materiellen, hat er wohl aufzuweisen, geistig jedoch wird er immer kraftloser, denn er wendet sich ab von dem Urquell der Kraft und kann daher auch nicht von Ihm durchflutet werden. Ohne Kraftzufuhr aus Gott aber gibt es keinen Fortschritt, sondern nur einen geistigen Rückgang, also immer größer werdende Entfernung von Gott....
