Activity of the spiritual spark in man....

The turning point in earthly life is the moment when the soul gives the spirit within itself the freedom to vibrate upwards in order to make contact with the spiritual beyond the human soul. The earlier this process begins, the sooner the human being reaches the degree of maturity which is the precondition for receiving light and knowledge. The human being is ignorant as long as the spirit in him is not yet active, as long as the divine spark slumbers in the human being, for the spiritual cannot reveal itself to the human soul; it is as it were incapable of grasping a spiritual communication, for its kingdom is earth, matter.... and the spiritual is still completely alien to it. Only when the spiritual spark within itself becomes active and tries to impart knowledge from the spiritual realm does it begin to comprehend. Man will have no understanding of that which is not earthly visible or tangible as long as he does not concern himself more closely with it. However, he only does the latter when what is earthly visible and tangible is no longer sufficient for him, i.e. when the fulfilment of physical desire seems unattractive to him, i.e. when he disregards the body and longs for higher knowledge;.... when he suddenly recognizes a shortcoming in his current state.... when the life he leads is not enough for him and he turns his attention to things he cannot fathom with mere common sense. Then he ponders, i.e. he sends his spirit upwards, and now the spirit connects with the spiritual outside itself, which corresponds to the nature of man. In other words, if the human being is good and noble, truth-loving and longing for God, then his spirit connects with the spiritual that was in the same endeavour, that embodied the good, the true and the divine.... But which, in contrast to man, already stands on a level of perfection that enables it to teach the spiritual that entrusts itself to it. What the spirit therefore now receives are wisdoms which only concern the spiritual kingdom, which therefore can certainly be imparted to the human soul, but which do not concern earthly questions but merely promote the spiritual higher development of the human being. However, this higher development only appears significant to those people who are able to separate themselves from earthly experience, but to others it is an empty concept, for their souls simply do not realize that they can lead a life apart from the earthly, which seems much more appealing and purposeful to them. Only when the soul releases the spirit within itself can it initiate the soul into the splendours of the spiritual kingdom, and then the soul will likewise strive to ascend, that is, it will longingly desire the results of the spiritual flight upwards, into the spiritual kingdom. For it recognizes the value of what the spirit tries to convey to it, it recognizes it and tries to make itself worthy of the attention from the spiritual kingdom.... Thus the human being now consciously strives for realization, for light, and the conscious striving also brings him light, the human being becomes knowledgeable and his earthly life brings him the right success.... the higher development of his soul, which is the purpose and goal of earthly life....

인간 안의 영의 불씨의 활동.

이 땅의 삶의 전환점은 혼이 자신 안의 영에게 자유를 주는 순간이다. 이로써 혼이 자신 안의 영에게 인간의 혼의 외부에 있는 영과 접촉하기 위해, 높은 곳을 향해 올라갈 수 있는 자유를 준다. 이런 과정이 일찍 시작될수록, 사람은 빛과 지식을 받기 위한 전제 조건인 성숙한 정도에 더 빠르게 도달하게 된다. 영이 사람 안에서 아직 역사하지 않는 동안에는, 인간 안의 영의 불씨가 잠을 자고 있는 동안에는, 사람에게 지식이 없다. 왜냐면 영적인 존재가 인간의 혼에게 자신을 계시해줄 수 없기 때문이다. 혼은 또한 영적인 계시를 이해할 능력이 없다. 왜냐면 그의 나라는 이 땅이고, 물질이고, 영적인 존재는 아직 혼에게 전혀 새로운 것이기 때문이다.

영의 불씨가 혼 안에서 스스로 역사하여, 영의 나라에서 온 지식을 전하려고 할 때, 비로소 혼이 이해하기 시작한다. 이렇게 될 때까지 인간은 이 땅에서 볼 수 있거나, 붙잡을 수 없는 것을 이해하지 못하고, 이에 관해 생각하지도 않는다. 그의 육체적 욕망의 성취가 그에게 매력적이지 않은 것처럼 보이고, 그가 육체를 경시하고, 더 높은 지식을 향한 열망을 갖게 되면, 그가 갑자기 자신의 현재의 상태를 부족한 상태로 발견하고, 그가 이끄는 삶이 그에게 충분하지 않게 되고, 그가 단지 맨 머리로는 헤아릴 수 없는 것에 자신의 주의를 기울인다면, 그러므로 그가 그에는 보이는 것과 붙잡을 수 있는 것으로 만족하지 못하게 되면, 그는 비로소 이에 관해 생각하게 된다.

그러면 그는 고민을 하게 되고, 그가 자신의 영을 위로 보내, 이제 영이 사람의 성품에 합당한, 그의 외부에 있는 영적인 존재와 연결을 이룬다. 다시 말해 사람이 선하고, 숭고하고, 진리를 사랑하고, 하나님을 갈망한다면, 그의 영은 같은 추구를 하는, 다시 말해 선과 진리와 신적인 것이 함께하는 영과 연결이 된다. 이런 영은 인간과는 대조적으로 이미 완전한 수준에 있고, 자신에게 맡겨진 영적인 존재들을 가르칠 수 있는 능력이 있다.

이제 영이 받는 지혜들은 단지 영의 나라에 관련된 지혜들이다. 그러므로 실제 인간의 혼에 전달될 수 있지만, 이 땅의 질문과는 관련이 없고, 단지 인간의 영적인 높은 성장을 지원한다. 그러나 이런 높은 성장은 단지 이 땅의 삶에서 자신을 분리할 수 있는 사람들에게만 의미가 있는 것처럼 보인다. 그러나 다른 사람들에게는 이런 높은 성장은 공허한 개념이다. 왜냐하면 그들의 혼이 이 땅의 삶과 함께, 혼에게 더 매력적이고, 목적에 더 합당한 삶을 살 수 있다는 것을 이해하지 못하기 때문이다.

혼이 자신 안의 영을 자유롭게 해줄 때만, 영이 혼에게 영의 나라의 영광을 알려줄 수 있다. 그러면 혼은 마찬가지로 높은 곳을 향해 추구한다. 다시 말해 혼은 영의 나라로 영적인 여행의 결과를 간절하게 갈망한다. 왜냐면 혼이 영이 전해주려는 것의 가치를 깨닫고, 자신을 영의 나라에서 주는 것을 받기에 합당하게 만들려고 노력하기 때문이다. 다시 말해 인간은 이제 의식적으로 깨달음을 추구하고, 빛을 추구한다. 이런 의식적인 노력은 그에게 빛을 준다. 사람은 지식을 얻게 되고, 그의 이 땅의 삶이 이 땅의 삶의 목적이자 목표인 그의 혼이 높이 성장하는, 진정한 성공을 그에게 준다.
