View of life dependent on belief in the survival of the soul....

Individual people's views of life are very different, because they are always the product of the individual's spiritual direction. However, the human being will undoubtedly take an affirmative attitude towards life, i.e. regocnize it as somehow meaningful, if he regards himself as a creature which has a task on earth. The human being, however, to whom it seems unacceptable that all creation is a means to an end and that he, as a human being, is effectively the cause of every work of creation, will find the whole of life pointless, and the thought of being able to end his earthly life on his own authority is pleasant to him because he takes offence at all those events and sufferings which are imposed on people from above. He has no real evidence for the assumption that his soul's life ends with bodily death, and yet he accepts this with such certainty that he organizes his life on earth accordingly, that is, he lives without any sense of responsibility because he considers it impossible that he will ever have to answer for it. He has no real evidence and yet presupposes this assumption for his life on earth. His view of life is based on the assumption of non-existence after death. He has no motivation, no faith that teaches him to think differently. Only irrefutable evidence of life after death would change his previous view of life, but this cannot be given to him because such an awakened belief would have no value before God.... So he cannot receive positive knowledge about the soul's continued existence, he just has to 'believe' the teachings about it, he has to bring himself to this belief, for which he has sufficient means at his disposal. Only when he has gained this conviction does his view of life begin to waver. He will now make comparisons, he will no longer want to regocnize that which he had previously advocated, he will welcome a change in external living conditions which will help him to completely abandon his wrong opinions and to view earthly life completely differently. And thus the willing person struggles through it himself if only he pays attention to this problem, which stimulates him to solve and thus inspires him to spiritual research. Once the human being has overcome this obstacle the danger is over for him, for now his thoughts will always be directed towards eternal truth and he will now also accept earthly life devotedly and patiently, for he knows that earthly life is only granted to him for a short time and that he has to make use of this time and sever the connection which taught him wrong thinking. Now he realizes how erroneous the results of such distorted thinking are. Faith in God is the foundation on which every building should rest, yet without faith the truth cannot be conveyed to the human being and thus he cannot attain that view of life which affirms everything, i.e. which is the path to the right realization....

Visión de la vida que depende la creencia en la vida continua del alma....

Las percepciones de la vida de cada hombre individual son muy diferentes, ya que siempre son el producto de la dirección mental del individuo. Pero es innegable que el hombre adoptará una actitud afirmativa hacia la vida, es decir, la reconocerá como algo significativo si se ve a sí mismo como una criatura que tiene una tarea en la tierra. Sin embargo, el hombre a quien no le parece aceptable que toda la creación sea un medio para un fin y que él, como ser humano, sea, por así decirlo, la causa de cada obra de creación, encontrará que toda la vida carece de sentido para él, y le agrada el pensamiento de poder terminar su vida por propia voluntad, porque se ofende por todos esos acontecimientos y sufrimientos que se imponen a los hombres desde arriba.

No tiene pruebas reales para suponer que la vida de su alma termina con la muerte física, y sin embargo lo asume con tanta confianza que organiza su vida en la tierra en consecuencia, es decir, vive sin ningún sentido de responsabilidad porque cree que es imposible que alguna vez tenga que responder por sí mismo. No tiene pruebas reales y, sin embargo, hace de esta suposición un requisito previo para su vida en la tierra. Su perspectiva de la vida se basa en la suposición de la inexistencia después de la muerte. No tiene ningún impulso, ninguna fe que le enseñe a pensar de manera diferente. Sólo unas evidencias irrefutables de la vida después de la muerte cambiarían su perspectiva actual de la vida, pero estas no se le pueden dar porque una creencia despertada de esta manera no tendría valor ante Dios....

Entonces no puede obtener un conocimiento positivo acerca de la vida continua del alma. , sólo tiene que “creer” las enseñanzas al respecto, tiene que llegar a esa creencia por sí mismo, para lo tiene muchos recursos a su disposición. Sólo cuando ha adquirido esta convicción su visión de la vida comienza a flaquear. Ahora hará comparaciones, ya no querrá reconocer lo que antes había defendido, acogerá con agrado una transformación de las condiciones de la vida exterior que le ayudará a abandonar por completo sus falsas opiniones y ahora mirará la vida en la Tierra de forma completamente diferente. Y así, el hombre dispuesto supera esto por él mismo, si tan sólo presta su atención a este problema, que le incita a resolverlo y, por tanto, le estimula a la investigación espiritual.

Una vez que el hombre ha superado este precipicio, el peligra ha pasado para él, porque ahora sus pensamientos se dirigen siempre hacia la verdad eterna, y ahora también aceptará la vida terrenal con entrega y paciencia, porque sabe que su vida en la tierra sólo le es concedida por un corto tiempo y que debe aprovechar este tiempo y romper la conexión que le enseño a pensar mal. Ahora le resulta claro cuán erróneos son los resultados de un pensamiento tan distorsionado. La fe en Dios es la base sobre la que debe apoyarse todo edificio, pero sin la fe no se puede transmitir la verdad al hombre y entonces tampoco puede alcanzar esa visión de la vida, que afirma todo, es decir, que es el camino hacia la cognición correcta....
