Werkzaamheid is leven – Passiviteit is gevaar

Zich in alle deemoed aan de wil van de Heer onderwerpen, zal u Zijn genade waardig maken. En aanvaardt alles, wat de Heer u stuurt, zonder tegenspraak of zonder innerlijk verzet. Want als God u met leed bedeelt, bewijst Hij u ook Zijn liefde. Alleen omdat Hij u innig liefheeft, laat Hij u lijden, omdat u anders nooit tot Hem kunt geraken. Maar Hij wil, dat u de weg naar Hem vindt.

En daarom zult u de wereld pas bedwingen, als u zich aan de Heer onderworpen hebt, want als u uw wil opgeeft en binnen Zijn wil leeft, staan u grote krachten ter beschikking en u overwint de wereld en elke tegenstander, die u nadert om u ten val te brengen. En vertrouw daarom onvoorwaardelijk op de goddelijke Heer. Hij zal u op alle wegen leiden en besturen.

Alles, wat uit God is en er weer naar streeft om naar Hem terug te keren, is in rusteloze bedrijvigheid werkzaam. Want een leven in rust en passiviteit is geen streven opwaarts, maar een afglijden in de duisternis. Alleen in werkzaamheid zit leven, en werkzaam is daarom alles, wat leven wil. Maar passiviteit uit vrije wil daarentegen is het grootste gevaar om noodgedwongen passief te worden. Het gevaar is daarom zo groot, omdat de menselijke wil dan zwak wordt en deze verzwakte wil gebruikt wordt door de tegenstander, die de mens steeds meer hindert werkzaam te zijn voor zijn eigen verlossing.

De wil om werkzaam te zijn, is steeds een aanvaarden van de kracht, die de mens toestroomt. Als hij deze gebruikt, dan zal hij ook onophoudelijk werkzaam zijn. Als hij deze afwijst, is hij ook niet in staat om werkzaam te zijn, want uit eigen kracht is hij tot niets in staat. De wil tot werkzaamheid levert hem ook voortdurend die kracht op en deze kracht laat zijn wil zich weer bewust naar God toekeren.

Als de mens ernaar streeft om aan zichzelf en zijn ziel te werken, zal zijn wil voortdurend aangespoord worden en hij zal in onafgebroken werkzaamheid de aardse opdracht zien. Hij zal niet passief blijven, omdat hij de passiviteit als een stilstand herkent, maar hij opwaarts gaan wil. De duistere toestand echter verzwakt zijn drang om werkzaam te zijn. Dat wil zeggen, dat een in onwetendheid erop los leven eveneens een belemmerend effect heeft.

De kracht van het inzicht wordt echter iedereen, die naar God verlangt en tot Hem bidt, toegestuurd. Want de Heer laat hen niet over aan de duisternis van de geest. Degene, die innig tot God bidt, zal kennis hebben. Hem zal kracht en genade toestromen. Zijn drang om werkzaam te zijn, zal groter worden en hij streeft bewust opwaarts. Zijn wil zal onophoudelijk werkzaam zijn en werkzaam zijn betekent vrij worden van alle dwang. Werkzaam zijn betekent de kracht uit God bewust in ontvangst nemen en te gebruiken overeenkomstig de wil van God. En werkzaam zijn overeenkomstig de wil van God betekent zich bevrijden uit de macht van de tegenstander.

Activity is life.... danger of inactivity....

Submitting to the lord's will in all humility will make you worthy of His grace. And therefore accept everything the lord sends you without contradiction or inner rebellion. For if God considers you with suffering, He also proves His love for you; only because He loves you dearly does He allow you to suffer, since otherwise you can never come to Him.... But He wants you to find your way to Him. And therefore you will only force the world when you have submitted yourselves to the lord, for if you surrender your will and live in His will you will have the greatest strength at your disposal and you will overcome the world and every adversary who approaches you in order to bring you down. And therefore entrust yourselves unconditionally to the divine lord, He will guide and direct you on all paths. Everything that comes from God is active in restless activity and strives to return to Him. For a life of rest and inactivity is not an upward endeavour but a slide into darkness. Life lies in activity alone, and therefore everything that wants to live is active, whereas being inactive of one's own free will is the greatest danger of being forced into inactivity. The danger is so great because the human will then becomes weak and this weakened will is utilized by the adversary, who increasingly prevents the human being from being active for his own liberation. The will to be active is always an affirmation of the strength that flows towards the human being. If he utilizes it then he will also be incessantly active, if he rejects it then he is also incapable of being active because he is unable to do anything by his own strength. The will to be active also continuously earns him the strength, and this strength in turn lets his will turn ever more consciously towards God. If the human being endeavours to work on himself and his soul, his will will be constantly stimulated and he will see the earthly task in restless activity, he will not remain inactive because he regocnizes inactivity as a standstill but wants to progress upwards. However, the lightless state weakens his urge to be active, i.e. living in ignorance will also have an inhibiting effect. However, the power of realization comes to everyone who longs for God and prays to Him. For the lord does not leave them in the darkness of the spirit.... Whoever prays to God fervently will be filled with realization, strength and grace will flow to him, his urge to be active will be increased and he will consciously strive upwards. His will will be constantly active, and to be active means to become free from all compulsion; to be active means to consciously receive the power from God and to utilize it according to God's will.... and to be active according to God's will means to redeem oneself from the power of the adversary....
