Lo spirito di menzogna ed i suoi strumenti

Lo spirito della menzogna domina il mondo e chi desidera il mondo ed i suoi beni, è caduto sotto a questo spirito di menzogna, perché solo là si può affermare, solo là viene adulato, mentre viene ascoltato ed affermato. Lo Spirito della Verità invece troverà l’accesso solo fra gli uomini che cercano di staccarsi dal mondo ed i suoi beni, che non ne hanno nessun desiderio, ma rivolgono sé ed il loro pensare a cose divine, che pensano alla loro vera destinazione ed affermano una vita spirituale. Là allo spirito della menzogna è sbarrato l’accesso, perché a questi uomini Dio Stesso concede la Sua Protezione e li svincola al potere di colui che ha portato la menzogna nel mondo. Gli uomini che sono attaccati al mondo, dichiarano la loro appartenenza a colui che ha il suo potere nel mondo, perché desiderano ciò che è ancora la sua parte, materia non liberata, che cela in sé ancora molto dello spirito maligno. Dato che vuole conquistare tutto il mondo totalmente per sé, sfrutta ogni occasione, per aumentare negli uomini la brama per la materia, la presenta a loro quindi come desiderabile. Per questo si serve della menzogna, perché la Verità chiarirebbe agli uomini questo fatto e farebbe loro perdere il desiderio per il bene terreno. Così egli cerca di mescolare ogni Verità con l’errore, cerca di guidare gli uomini nel pensare errato, cerca di offuscare il loro spirito, cioè di intricarli nelle passioni e brame terrene, affinché lo spirito in loro sia circondato dagli involucri più spessi e non possa dare nessun chiarimento all’anima. Cerca di tirare giù tutto ciò che è divino, di soffocare tutto il nobile, di offuscare la Verità, di estinguere l’amore, di seminare odio e guerra e di formare un poco alla volta gli uomini in modo che diventino simili a lui; che accettino tutte quelle caratteristiche che contrassegnano il maligno. L’amore per la Verità dimora soltanto in pochissimi uomini e sono coloro che disdegnano il mondo. La loro meta però è Dio, il quale E’ la Verità e cercano di conquistarsi del bene spirituale, che ha sussistenza per l’Eternità. Così elevano sé stessi al di sopra del mondo ed il principe della menzogna non ha più nessuna influenza su di loro. Ciononostante li vuole opprimere e per questo si serve di coloro che tendono pure esteriormente alla Verità, cioè che risvegliano l’apparenza di cercare la Verità, ma interiormente sono dediti al principe della menzogna, che amano sé stessi e la loro vita e che cercano di rendersela il più piacevole possibile, che stanno in mezzo al mondo e che cercano di rinnegare il legame con lui, i quali senza spinta interiore di rinunciare al mondo, fingono nei confronti dei prossimi di condurre una vita sacrificata e così sono dediti alla menzogna. L’avversario si serve di costoro come suoi strumenti, mentre li lascia parlare sotto il mantello di copertura della Verità, come lo vuole il principe della menzogna. Così si mescola la menzogna con la Verità, e l’umanità accetta tutto ciò che le viene presentato come Verità e che è comunque la più grossolana non-verità, perché non lo può riconoscere dato che non desidera la Verità e la non-verità corrisponde di più al l oro desiderio terreno e perciò viene accettata spensieratamente. Ma lo Spirito della Verità si farà strada, appena gli uomini si separano volontariamente dalla materia, appena desiderano il bene spirituale e tendono verso Dio. Ed egli vincerà lo spirito della menzogna, perché chi riconosce la Verità, si adopererà per lei e cercherà di diffonderla e la non-verità verrà respinta e vinto con lei colui attraverso il quale la menzogna è venuta nel mondo.

The spirit of lies and its instruments....

The spirit of lies rules the world, and anyone who desires the world and its goods is enslaved by this spirit of lies. For only there can he assert himself, only there will homage be paid to him by being listened to and affirmed. In contrast, the spirit of truth will only find admission among people who try to detach themselves from the world and its goods, who have no desire for them whatsoever but turn themselves and their thoughts towards divine things, who consider their actual purpose and affirm a spiritual life. That is where the lying spirit is denied access. For God Himself will grant his protection to these people, and He wrests them from the one who brings lies into the world. People who hold on to the world thereby profess their affiliation to the one to whom the world is his power, for they desire that which is still his share.... unredeemed matter.... which still shelters much of the evil spirit within itself. And since he wants to win the world entirely for himself he uses every opportunity to increase people's greed for matter, hence he presents himself in a desirable way.... He uses lies to do so, for the truth would enlighten people and make them lose the longing for earthly possessions. And thus he aims to intersperse every truth with error, he tries to lead people into erroneous thinking, he seeks to obscure their spirit, that is, to entangle it in earthly passions and cravings, so that the spirit within themselves is surrounded by the most dense layers and unable to offer the soul the slightest clarification. And he aims to pull down everything divine, stifle everything noble, obscure the truth, eradicate love, spread hatred and strife and gradually shape people such that they become like him; that they will adopt all those qualities which characterise evil.

The love for truth dwells only in very few people, and they despise the world. However, their goal is God, Who is the Truth, and they seek to obtain spiritual values which last for eternity. And thus they lift themselves above the world and the prince of lies has no more influence on them. And yet he wants to oppress them and to this end uses those who, on the surface, also strive for the truth, that is, who appear to look for truth but inwardly are devoted to the price of lies.... who love themselves and their life and try to make it as comfortable as possible, who live in the midst of the world and yet try to deny their connection with it.... who, without the inner urge to renounce the world, pretend to live a life of self-denial before the eyes of their fellow human beings and thus are fond of lies. These are used by the opponent as his instruments, by letting them speak under the cover of truth, as the prince of lies wants. And thus lies are mixed with truth, and humanity accepts everything that is presented as truth and yet is the greatest untruth, for it cannot recognise it because it doesn't desire the truth, and since the lie corresponds to their desire more it is accepted without hesitation. Yet the spirit of truth will establish itself as soon as people willingly separate themselves from matter.... as soon as they desire spiritual wealth and strive towards God.... And he will defeat the spirit of lies, for anyone who recognises the truth will stand up for it and try to spread it, and the lie will be displaced and with it the one who came into the world through the lie will be overcome....
