Spiritual guides....

People on earth are assisted by spiritual guides, partly embodied among them as people themselves, partly spiritually influencing them; thus no human being is completely left to himself during his earthly life. These spiritual guides are constantly in action as soon as the human being is in distress of the soul and does not stubbornly resist their help. I.e., the human being must want to be helped, he must feel his adversity and strive to come out of it, thus he must feel his spiritual state to be deficient and desire to improve it, then the spiritual guides will be willing and also entitled by God to assist him. People are given help in the form of enlightenment about the purpose of earthly life and their earthly task. For the knowledge of this must first be presented to people so that they can then fulfil their earthly task. People have to be entrusted to spiritual guidance because they are completely blind in their lack of knowledge and would never find the right path on their own. A guide will therefore always be with them from God, but they themselves will be unaware of which kingdom is their home. Even the spiritual guides living among them as human beings are not recognized as such because otherwise a certain compulsion of faith would be exerted which would be an obstacle to spiritual development. Nevertheless, every teacher on earth must be an emissary of God, otherwise his teaching could be doubted.... Yet God's opposing power also seeks to gain influence over people, and this influence will always contradict the pure truth from God. Therefore it is always important to check whose share that is which people try to present to their fellow human beings as truth. The right spiritual guidance can always be recognized by the fact that it tries to distract people's thoughts from earthly things and wants to turn them towards the spiritual kingdom. Spiritual guidance seeks to influence people mentally, it seeks to encourage loving activity, it seeks to dissuade people from material striving, and it places the loving, wise and omnipotent deity in the foreground. Spiritual guidance takes little interest in earthly life but constantly directs the thoughts towards the spiritual kingdom. And as soon as a person strives towards this aim, as soon as he tries to introduce his fellow human being into the spiritual kingdom, he is given to people by God as a guide and well suited to assist them in spiritual adversity. For he merely prepares the field so that the spiritual invisible guides can scatter their seed and through mental transmission introduce the human being to spiritual knowledge, so that they can stimulate him into loving activity and thus exercise their office as guides and look after the souls entrusted to their care. However, if people are of a worldly mind they will not listen to the spiritual guides.... neither fellow human beings will be able to instruct them nor will spiritual forces have any influence on them, for the voice of the world drowns out the subtle voices from the spiritual kingdom. And as long as the human being is still captivated by matter he lacks all understanding for spiritual gifts.... Then it is difficult to win their soul, they withdraw from the care of their spiritual guardians, they don't pay attention to their thoughts and are not loving and willing to love. On the other hand, they listen to those who allow themselves to be used by God as an instrument of the adversary in order to convey error to people. For error is acceptable to them because it is compatible with their desires and lusts, with their worldly senses.... Their knowledge, however, is ignorance, it lacks all truth, it is the work of men and human thoughts which mislead their fellow human beings and cloud their power of realization.... Truth only comes from the spiritual kingdom and only spiritual guides sent by God convey it. Their work, however, depends on the will of the people themselves....

Geistige Führer....

Den Menschen auf Erden sind geistige Führer beigegeben, teils selbst als Menschen unter ihnen verkörpert, teils geistig auf sie einwirkend; also ist kein Mensch völlig sich selbst überlassen während seines Erdenlebenswandels. Diese geistigen Führer treten ständig in Aktion, sowie der Mensch in Not der Seele sich befindet und sich nicht hartnäckig ihrer Hilfeleistung widersetzet. D.h., es muß der Mensch sich helfen lassen wollen, er muß seine Not empfinden und herauszukommen trachten, er muß also den Geisteszustand als mangelhaft empfinden und Verlangen tragen nach Hebung dessen, dann sind die geistigen Führer bereit und auch von Gott aus berechtigt, ihm beizustehen. Der Beistand wird den Menschen gewährt in Form von Aufklärungen über den Erdenlebenszweck und ihre Erdenaufgabe. Denn das Wissen darum muß den Menschen als erstes unterbreitet werden, auf daß sie dann ihrer Erdenaufgabe nachkommen können. Es müssen die Menschen einer geistigen Führung anvertraut sein, weil sie in ihrer Erkenntnislosigkeit völlig blind einhergehen und von sich aus niemals den rechten Weg finden würden. Eine Führung wird ihnen daher von Gott aus stets zugesellt sein, doch ihnen selbst unbewußt, welches Reich deren Heimat ist. Auch die als Menschen unter ihnen lebenden geistigen Führer werden nicht als solche erkannt, weil sonst ein gewisser Glaubenszwang ausgeübt würde, der hinderlich wäre zur geistigen Entwicklung. Dennoch muß jeder Lehrende auf Erden ein Abgesandter Gottes sein, ansonsten seine Lehre angezweifelt werden könnte.... Doch auch die Gegenkraft Gottes sucht Einfluß zu gewinnen auf die Menschen, und dieser Einfluß wird immer der reinen Wahrheit aus Gott widersprechen. Daher gilt es stets zu prüfen, wessen Anteil das ist, was Menschen ihren Mitmenschen als Wahrheit zu unterbreiten suchen. Die rechte geistige Führung wird stets daran zu erkennen sein, daß sie das Denken der Menschen abzulenken sucht vom Irdischen und dem geistigen Reich zuwenden will. Die geistige Führung sucht gedanklich auf die Menschen einzuwirken, sie sucht zur Liebetätigkeit anzuregen, sie sucht den Menschen vom materiellen Streben abzubringen, und sie setzet die liebende, weise und allmächtige Gottheit in den Vordergrund. Die geistige Führung nimmt wenig Anteil am irdischen Leben, sondern lenket unausgesetzt die Gedanken auf das geistige Reich. Und sowie ein Mensch dieses Ziel anstrebt, sowie er den Mitmenschen in das geistige Reich einzuführen sucht, ist er von Gott den Menschen als Führer beigegeben und wohlgeeignet, ihnen beizustehen in geistiger Not. Denn er bereitet nur das Feld vor, auf daß die geistigen unsichtbaren Führer ihre Saat ausstreuen können und durch gedankliche Übertragung den Menschen einführen können in geistiges Wissen, auf daß sie ihn zum Liebeswirken anregen und also ihr Führeramt ausüben können und die Seelen betreuen, die ihrer Obhut anvertraut sind. Sind die Menschen jedoch Welt-zugewandten Sinnes, so geben sie den geistigen Führern kein Gehör.... weder Mitmenschen werden sie belehren können, noch geistige Kräfte haben Einfluß auf sie, denn die Stimme der Welt übertönet die feinen Stimmen aus dem geistigen Reich. Und sowie der Mensch noch von der Materie gefesselt ist, fehlt ihm jegliches Verständnis für geistige Gaben.... Dann ist es schwer, deren Seele zu gewinnen, sie entziehen sich der Fürsorge ihrer geistigen Betreuer, sie achten nicht ihrer Gedanken und sind nicht liebetätig und liebewillig. Dagegen schenken sie denen Gehör, die sich als Werkzeug des Gegners von Gott gebrauchen lassen, um den Menschen Irrtum zuzuleiten. Denn der Irrtum ist ihnen annehmbar, weil er sich mit ihren Wünschen und Begierden, mit ihren weltlichen Sinnen verträgt.... Ihr Wissen aber ist Unwissenheit, es entbehrt jeglicher Wahrheit, es ist Menschenwerk und menschliches Gedankengut, das die Mitmenschen irreführt und ihnen die Erkenntniskraft trübt.... Nur aus dem geistigen Reich kommt Wahrheit, und nur von Gott gesandte geistige Führer vermitteln diese. Deren Wirken aber ist abhängig vom Willen der Menschen selbst....
