Spiritual and material creations....

Innumerable worlds exist in God's creation, the purpose of which is the upward development of the spiritual, which is to find its way back to God. And innumerable worlds are therefore carriers of this spiritual, which is partly materially bound and partly inhabits these worlds in spiritual bonds according to its state of maturity. It is not only earthly material creations which have the task of carrying spiritual substances, but since there are different degrees of development the spiritual substance does not always need matter but can also continue its ascent development in spiritual creations as soon as it has passed through earthly matter. But even then the spiritual still has to fulfil tasks which require some kind of creations which present themselves to the spiritual eye and are incomparable in their versatility, kind and purpose. The spiritual can test itself on all these works of creation, it can let its will to love become action according to its abundance of strength and light. The spiritual creations are only visible to the spiritual eye when the being has reached a certain degree of maturity. Before that it is in worlds.... if it has left the earth immature.... in which it cannot recognize any creations because it is completely dark around the being. Thus the miracles of creation also increase with the state of maturity, so that the being can repeatedly observe new creations throughout eternities and recognize God's infinite love in them. The spiritual creations are much richer and completely inconceivable to the human eye. They constantly give evidence of God's creative will, of His love, which constantly seeks to make His creatures happy, and of His unsurpassable wisdom. They are also indestructible but changeable in themselves, because the spiritual does not rest but is constantly active and spiritual creations are again the expression of strength of perfect beings of light who constantly create and create in order to give the still undeveloped or lowly mature spiritual possibilities to progress in development. Completely immature spiritual beings need material creations; but from a certain degree of maturity these are no longer necessary but are replaced by spiritual creations which, however, likewise give the being the opportunity to attain brightest light. The further away the being is from God, the harder is the cover by which it is surrounded, and the more material is also the creation to which it is assigned as inhabitant. If the being has left earth in the same God-distant state, then it still feels surrounded by the same material creation, although the spiritual kingdom has now become its abode.

(23.7.1945) These creations stand before its spiritual eye because the desire for them is still so great that the soul creates material things for itself in thought and now believes to move in them. Hence they are not spiritual creations which came into being through the will of God and the beings of light, but they are foam formations which the soul imagines for itself through its will, which it therefore does not actually see with its spiritual eye but only lets arise before its senses in the memory of earth. It will also never be able to enjoy these creations because they always disappear as soon as they want to be used by the being, so that the soul very soon recognizes the transience of its creations, which is their purpose. The spiritual creations, on the other hand, are imperishable, only in constant change, i.e., they arise ever more perfect before the being's spiritual eye the further it rises in perfection. Again and again it is allowed to behold new structures which bear witness to God's love, wisdom and omnipotence in unimagined glory and yet also stimulate loving activity again, because all these spiritual worlds harbour beings which develop higher through the transfer of strength and therefore strive towards the beholding being of light, attracted by the abundance of light which radiates from those beings. Material worlds are mostly without light and require increased care by the beings of light, yet the care for the inhabitants of material worlds is an act of mercy by the beings of light in which happiness also lies at the same time, because love constantly impels them to be mercifully active. Spiritual worlds themselves radiate light because their inhabitants are recipients of light in various degrees of maturity. And that is why the spiritual worlds are in contact with the material worlds; they emit their light to the places of darkness according to the inhabitants' willingness to receive, which can see the spiritual worlds as luminous celestial bodies which circle the lightless celestial body in certain orbits. But the radiation of light only happens spiritually and is therefore only felt by the inhabitants of the material world who long for light and shape themselves as receptacles through their way of life. Only in the spiritual kingdom is the radiation of light visible to the being which is able to see spiritually through its maturity of soul. And thus countless creations have emerged from God's will to shape, which His infinite love let come into being in order to lead the imperfect spiritual into perfection and to make the perfect spiritual happy. And His power and glory is expressed in all His works of creation. However, it only becomes recognizable in all its greatness to the being which, in the spheres of light, enjoys the bliss of dwelling close to God and being constantly permeated by His strength of love.... For this is bliss, to feel God's strength and power, to be seized by His love and to be allowed to be active in the same will with God for all eternity....

Geestelijke en materiële scheppingen

In Gods schepping bestaan er ontelbare werelden, waarvan het doel de positieve ontwikkeling van het geestelijke is, dat de weg naar God terug moet vinden. En ontelbare werelden zijn bijgevolg drager van dit geestelijke, dat - beantwoordend aan zijn toestand van rijpheid - deels materieel, deels geestelijk gebonden deze werelden bewoont. Er zijn niet alleen aards materiële scheppingen waaraan de taak is opgedragen het geestelijke te herbergen. Daar er verschillende graden van ontwikkeling zijn, heeft het geestelijke niet steeds de materie nodig, maar kan het ook in geestelijke scheppingen zijn positieve ontwikkeling voortzetten, zodra het de weg door de aardse materie is gegaan. Maar ook dan moet het geestelijke nog taken vervullen die willekeurige scheppingen nodig hebben, die zich voor het geestelijke oog presenteren en die onvergelijkelijk zijn in hun veelzijdigheid, aard en bestemming. Aan al deze scheppingswerken kan het geestelijke zich toetsen. Het kan zijn wil om lief te hebben tot daad laten worden, al naar gelang zijn volheid van kracht en licht. De geestelijke scheppingen zijn voor het geestelijke oog pas zichtbaar wanneer het wezen een bepaalde graad van rijpheid heeft. Tevoren bevindt het zich in werelden - wanneer het de aarde onrijp heeft verlaten - waarin het geen enkele schepping kan herkennen, omdat het om het wezen heen totaal donker is. Dus nemen met de toestand van rijpheid ook de scheppingswonderen toe, zodat het wezen eeuwigheden door steeds weer nieuwe scheppingen kan aanschouwen en hierdoor de oneindige liefde van God kan inzien. De geestelijke scheppingen zijn veel uitgebreider en voor het menselijk oog geheel onvoorstelbaar. Ze leggen voortdurend getuigenis af van de vormgevende wil van God, van Zijn liefde die voortdurend probeert Zijn schepselen gelukkig te maken, en van Zijn niet te overtreffen wijsheid. Ze zijn ook onverwoestbaar, echter op zich veranderlijk, omdat het geestelijke niet rust. Integendeel, het is voortdurend werkzaam. En geestelijke scheppingen zijn weer de uiting van kracht van volmaakte lichtwezens die voortdurend werkzaam zijn en scheppen om het nog onontwikkelde of in lage graad van rijpheid staande geestelijke, mogelijkheden te bieden om voort te gaan in de ontwikkeling. Geheel onrijp geestelijks heeft materiële scheppingen nodig. Doch vanaf een bepaalde graad van rijpheid zijn deze niet meer nodig, maar worden ze door geestelijke scheppingen vervangen, die echter het wezenlijke eveneens de mogelijkheid bieden tot het helderste licht te geraken. Hoe verder het wezen van God is verwijderd, des te harder is het omhulsel waardoor het is omgeven en des te materiëler is ook de schepping die het als bewoner is toegewezen. Heeft het wezen de aarde verlaten in dezelfde toestand waarin het ver van God verwijderd is, dan voelt het zich nog door dezelfde materiële schepping omgeven, ofschoon het geestelijke rijk nu zijn verblijfplaats is geworden. Deze scheppingen staan voor zijn geestelijk oog, omdat het verlangen ernaar nog zo groot is dat de ziel zelf in gedachten materiële zaken voor zichzelf schept en ze nu meent zich in deze op te houden. Het zijn dus geen geestelijke scheppingen die ontstaan zijn door de wil van God en van de lichtwezens. Integendeel, het zijn schijnscheppingen welke de ziel zichzelf voortovert door haar wil, die ze dus in werkelijkheid niet ziet met haar geestelijke oog, maar alleen in de herinnering aan de aarde voor haar geest laat ontstaan. Ze zal ook nooit van deze beelden kunnen genieten, omdat ze steeds verdwijnen zodra ze door het wezen gebruikt willen worden, zodat de ziel heel spoedig de vergankelijkheid van haar scheppingen beseft, wat de bedoeling ervan is. De geestelijke scheppingen daarentegen zijn onvergankelijk, alleen in voortdurende verandering. Dat wil zeggen: ze ontstaan steeds volmaakter voor het geestelijke oog van het wezen, hoe verder dit in volmaaktheid stijgt. Het zijn steeds weer nieuwe bouwsels die het mag aanschouwen, in onvermoede heerlijkheid getuigend van de liefde, wijsheid en almacht Gods. En toch ook weer aansporend om in liefde werkzaam te zijn, omdat al deze geestelijke werelden wezens bevatten die door het toesturen van kracht zich positief ontwikkelen en daarom op het op hem lettende lichtwezen aansturen, aangetrokken door de volheid van licht dat van die wezens uitstraalt. Materiële werelden zijn meestal zonder licht en hebben extra zorg van de lichtwezens nodig. Maar de zorg voor de bewoners van materiële werelden is een daad van erbarmen van de lichtwezens, waarin ook tegelijkertijd diepe vreugde is gelegen, omdat de liefde hen er onophoudelijk toe aanzet vol ontferming werkzaam te zijn. Geestelijke werelden stralen zelf licht uit, omdat hun bewoners ontvangers van licht zijn in verschillende graden van rijpheid. En daarom staan de geestelijke werelden in verbinding met de materiële werelden. Ze stralen hun licht uit naar oorden van duisternis, beantwoordend aan de bereidwilligheid van de bewoners om licht te ontvangen, en deze bewoners kunnen de geestelijke werelden waarnemen als stralende hemellichamen die in bepaalde banen draaien om het hemellichaam zonder licht. De lichtstraling vindt echter alleen geestelijk plaats en wordt dus alleen ervaren door de bewoners van de materiële wereld die verlangen naar licht en zich vormen als opnamevat door hun levenswandel. Pas in het geestelijke rijk is de lichtstraling zichtbaar voor het wezen dat in staat is geestelijk te schouwen door de rijpheid van zijn ziel. En zo zijn ontelbare scheppingen voortgekomen uit Gods wil om vorm te geven, die Zijn oneindige liefde liet ontstaan om het onvolmaakte geestelijke naar de volmaaktheid te voeren en het volmaakte geestelijke gelukkig te maken. En Zijn macht en heerlijkheid komt in al Zijn scheppingswerken tot uitdrukking. Het wordt evenwel pas in zijn totale grootte duidelijk zichtbaar voor het wezen dat in de sferen van het licht de gelukzaligheid geniet in de nabijheid van God te vertoeven en voortdurend door Zijn liefdeskracht doorstraald te worden.

Want dat is gelukzaligheid: Gods kracht en macht gewaar te worden, door Zijn liefde omvat te zijn en in gelijke wil met God werkzaam te mogen zijn tot in alle eeuwigheid.
