Threefold reception of the divine word....

It is a significant hour when the human being becomes aware of eternity and immortality, for now his struggle on earth is no longer futile but he realizes that it has its reason. And now he will also no longer rebel against his fate, he will harmonize it with God's wisdom and love and thus already submit himself devotedly to divine will. God's guidance will become increasingly clear to him and thus his trust in God will become childlike and unshakeable. And from this hour onwards he lives his life consciously, i.e. he endeavours to let every event affect him in such a way that it is beneficial to his soul and seeks strength to resist the hostility of the God-opposing power in the divine word, which is now also imparted to him through the love of the heavenly father. For without the word of God, man is not able.... although he recognizes.... to overcome all resistance that opposes him. The word of God provides him with the grace that is absolutely necessary in order to reach the goal, which is the purpose of life on earth. The word of God tells man how he should organize his way of life in order to partake of divine grace. One thing must therefore be received so that man prays, i.e. he gets in touch with God in order to request divine grace, for it cannot be supplied to him unasked. But the word of God must first impart the knowledge of it to him, he must allow God to speak to him, yet he is completely free to decide how and where he receives the divine word. He can do so by way of the proper divine service, i.e. he can be taught about the divine will by people who offer themselves to God for service; he can also receive the word of God through the holy scriptures if he asks God for enlightenment for what seems incomprehensible to him.... But he can also receive the word of God directly from Him if he allows himself to be mentally instructed by God's servants in the beyond. And this happens through mental deepening and connecting with God.... If a person tries to get in touch with the eternal deity more often by asking all questions to Him in the most childlike trust that they will be answered, he will be mentally instructed in the most marvellous and detailed way. And receiving the word of God in this form is truly the best, for then the word is alive in the person, it penetrates his heart, it does not merely pass by as an empty sound in his ear. For anyone who wants enlightenment from God Himself is also serious about it, and he will think through every answer and then keep it as spiritual property and now also be flooded with strength and grace in order to be able to live his earthly life in accordance with God's will....

하나님의 말씀을 세가지 의미로 받아드리는 일.

인간이 영원과 불멸을 의식하는 시간은 큰 의미가 있는 시간이다. 왜냐하면 이제 이 땅에서 하는 그의 투쟁이 더 이상 무의미한 일이 아니라, 그런 투쟁에 의미가 있다는 것을 그가 깨닫기 때문이다. 그는 이제 더 이상 자신의 운명에 반발하지 않을 것이고, 자신의 운명을 하나님의 지혜와 사랑과 조화시키고, 하나님의 뜻에 복종하게 될 것이다. 하나님의 인도는 그에게 항상 더 분명해지게 될 것이다. 이로써 하나님을 향한 그의 신뢰는 어린 자녀와 같이 될 것이고, 흔들리지 않게 될 것이다.

이 시간부터 그는 자신의 삶을 의식적으로 살게 된다. 다시 말해 그는 혼을 구원하는 방식으로 모든 사건을 그에게 적용시키려고 노력하고, 하나님을 대적하는 권세의 공격에 저항할 힘을, 하늘의 아버지의 사랑을 통해 그에게 전해지는 하나님의 말씀 안에서 찾게 된다. 왜냐하면 하나님의 말씀이 없으면, 비록 사람이 자신에게 대항하는 모든 장애물을 물리쳐야만 함을 깨닫지만, 그가 무능력하기 때문이다.

하나님의 말씀이 이 땅의 삶의 목적인 목표를 달성하기 위해 절대적으로 필요한 은혜를 그에게 준다. 하나님의 말씀은 하나님의 은혜를 취하기 위해 사람이 어떻게 자신의 삶의 방식을 형성해야 하는 지를 그에게 알려준다. 그러므로 사람이 말씀을 받아야만 한다. 이로써 그가 기도할 수 있게 되야 한다. 다시 말해 그가 하나님의 은혜를 요청하기 위해 하나님과 연결을 이뤄야 한다. 왜냐하면 은혜는 구하지 않으면, 그에게 공급될 수 없기 때문이다.

그러나 하나님의 말씀이 먼저 이에 관한 지식을 그에게 전달해야만 한다. 그는 하나님이 자신에게 말하게 해야만 한다. 그러나 그가 어떻게 어디에서 하나님의 말씀을 받는 지는 전적으로 그의 자유이다. 그는 정기적인 예배를 통해 하나님의 말씀을 받을 수 있다. 다시 말해 그는 하나님을 섬기기 위해 자신을 드린 사람들로부터 하나님의 뜻에 대한 가르침을 받을 수 있다. 그는 또한 하나님께 자신이 이해할 수 없게 보이는 성경 구절에 대한 깨달음을 구한다면, 성경을 통해 하나님의 말씀을 받을 수 있다.

그러나 그가 또한 저세상의 하나님의 종들로부터 생각을 통해 자신을 가르치도록 허용한다면, 그는 하나님으로부터 직접 하나님의 말씀을 받을 수 있다. 이런 일은 깊은 생각에 빠지면서 자신과 하나님을 연결시키는 일을 통해 일어난다. 사람이 어린 아이와 같은 믿음으로 영원한 신성에게 모든 질문을 하면서,영원한 신성과 더 자주 연결되기 위해 시도한다면, 그는 생각을 통해 가장 놀랍고, 가장 상세한 방법으로 가르침을 받게 된다.

이런 형태로 하나님의 말씀을 받는 일은 진정으로 최고로 좋은 일이다. 왜냐하면 말씀이 사람 안에 생명력이 있게 되고, 말씀이 심장을 꿰뚫고, 텅 빈 소리처럼 사람의 귀를 지나치지 않게 되기 때문이다. 왜냐하면 하나님 자신에게서 깨달음을 얻기 원하는 사람은 깨달음을 얻는 일이 그에게 진지하고, 그는 모든 대답을 깊이 생각하고, 이를 영적인 재산으로 소유하게 될 것이고, 이 땅에서 하나님의 뜻대로 살 수 있기 위해, 이제 권능과 은혜로 충만하게 될 것이기 때문이다.
