The battle of evil against good.... worthlessness of possessions....

You should be grateful to the lord for everything, for it all only proves His love. Whatever each day may bring you, it is ordained by God and always for your own good, even if it seems incomprehensible to you. For the spirit from eternity directs and guides everything, and His guidance is truly wise and loving above all else. And nothing is without meaning and purpose. And therefore trust the divine guidance and only ever try to recognize divine activity of love in every earthly emergency and every day will be a blessing for you....

As long as the human being resists good spiritual influence his nature is unsteady and depressed, sullen and dissatisfied or even indifferent, careless, pleasure-seeking and intent on earthly pleasures. For he does nothing to fight it, he leaves his will to the workings of ignoble spiritual forces, which now do their utmost to keep him away from the influence of good power. And therefore it is also very difficult to bring spiritual knowledge closer to such people. What now repels is the will of those evil beings which completely dominate the human being, and thus the evil in the human being fights against the good which wants to help him. And this battle of the spiritual makes itself felt in great inner dissatisfaction. The human being certainly realizes that he is not in a perfect state and yet his will is too weak to remedy it as long as he leaves it to the opposing power. And the battle will continue until he has completely abandoned himself to one or the other power. Surrendering to the good spiritual forces will soon bring him inner peace and a conscious striving towards God will be the result.... But to give himself completely to the bad powers will likewise bring him a pleasant life, but only in an earthly sense, for this evil power now fulfils every desire of man to keep him away from spiritual thoughts, the adversary gives him fulfilment of earthly desires and thereby binds him to himself with firm bonds. The struggle for such souls is extremely difficult and can only be successful if the good beings succeed in arousing in them an aversion to what they ardently desire.... and thus the person begins to reflect on the value or lack of value of what he possesses. Then there is again an opportunity to influence him mentally, and the battle of the pure against the impure spiritual begins anew. However, a person only learns to recognize the worthlessness of possessions when he sees how quickly they can perish.... And therefore God Himself often intervenes when the adversary has succeeded in his game of intrigue and he has thoroughly materialized the human being's mind.... Then God sets His will against it and lets fall prey to destruction what holds man's heart captive. He takes people's possessions in various ways by determining the forces of nature to obey His will, or by allowing the work of satan himself, who drives people to destroy the works of creation, to become a blessing for the individual person after all, provided that the person sees the suffering that now affects him as divine providence and resigns himself, thus now also begins to recognize the worthlessness of earthly possessions....

La lotta del male contro il bene - L’inutilità del possesso

Dovete essere grati al Signore per tutto, perché il tutto dimostra solo il Suo Amore. Qualunque cosa un giorno vi potrà portare, è deciso da Dio e sempre soltanto per il vostro meglio, anche quando vi sembra incomprensibile. Perché lo Spirito dall’Eternità guida e conduce tutto e la Sua Guida è veramente saggia ed amorevole al di sopra di tutto. E nulla è senza senso e scopo. Perciò, affidatevi alla Guida divina, e cercate sempre soltanto di riconoscere su di voi l’Agire del divino Amore in ogni situazione di miseria terrena ed ogni giorno sarà per voi di Benedizione. Finché l’uomo si oppone contro l’influenza spirituale buona, il suo essere è incostante ed oppresso, mormora ed è insoddisfatto oppure anche indifferente, di leggerezza, bramoso di godere ed interessato a gioie terrene. Perché non fa nulla per combattere le stesse, lascia la sua volontà all’agire di forze spirituali ignobili, che ora fanno tutto il possibile per tenere lontano da lui l’influenza della Forza buona. E perciò è anche molto difficile portare vicino a tali uomini il sapere spirituale. Ciò che ora rifiutano, è dovuto alla volontà di quegli esseri cattivi che dominano totalmente l’uomo, e così il male nell’uomo combatte contro il Bene che lo vuole aiutare. E questa lotta dello spirituale si fa notare in grande insoddisfazione interiore. L’uomo si rende ben conto che non è uno stato perfetto nel quale si trova, e malgrado ciò la sua volontà è troppo debole per sospenderlo finché lo lascia al potere opposto. E la lotta durerà finché non si è lasciato del tutto ad uno o all’altro potere. Affidarsi alla buone Forze spirituali, gli procura presto una pace interiore, e la conseguenza sarà un cosciente tendere a Dio. Ma darsi totalmente alle forze maligne gli procurerà pure una vita piacevole, ma solo nel senso terreno, perché questo potere cattivo adempie ora ogni desiderio dell’uomo, per tenerlo lontano dai pensieri spirituali e l’avversario gli adempie le sue bramosie terrene e con ciò lo lega a sé con lacci saldi. La lotta per tali anime è estremamente difficile e può avere successo solamente, quando agli esseri buoni riesce a risvegliare in loro un’avversione contro ciò che desideravano ardentemente, e quindi l’uomo comincia a riflettere sul valore o l’inutilità di ciò che possiede. Allora esiste nuovamente una possibilità di agire su di lui, e comincia di nuovo la lottaa dello spirituale puro contro quello impuro. L’uomo impara però a riconoscere l’inutilità del possesso solamente, quando vede quanto rapidamente questo può scomparire. Perciò Dio Stesso interviene sovente, quando all’avversario è riuscito il suo inganno ed ha formato del tutto materialmente il senso dell’uomo. Allora Dio vi oppone la Sua Volontà e lascia cadere alla distruzione ciò che tiene catturato il cuore dell’uomo. Egli toglie agli uomini il possesso in modi differenti, mentre determina le potenze della natura ad obbedire alla Sua Volontà, oppure l’agire stesso di Satana, che spinge gli uomini alla distruzione delle Opere di Creazione, affinché ci sia comunque ancora la Benedizione per il singolo uomo, per quanto costui ora considera la sofferenza che lo ha colpito, come Disposizione divina e vi si arrende e quindi comincia a riconoscere ora anche l’inutilità del possesso terreno.
