Torments of the soul in the afterlife.... desire for earthly good....

The desperate situation of a person whose only desire is for the world and its goods only becomes clear to him after his death. For what he now desires is unattainable for him, and yet the desire for it torments him unimaginably. The greed for it is far greater than on earth, precisely because it remains unfulfilled. He has no desire for spiritual possessions, he only endeavours to attain what seemed desirable to him in earthly life and conjures up all these things in his thoughts. Such covetous thoughts are now also fulfilled, i.e., everything he desires is there, however, no longer tangible but only in his imagination, so that his greed rises to the highest and yet always remains unfulfilled. These are true tantalus torments until he becomes aware of his desperate state and overcomes his desire, i.e. until he realizes that he is chasing after phantoms that remain eternally unattainable. Only then does he begin to think about the hopelessness of his state and to consider the possibilities of a change, and he now also finds support from the beings from the kingdom of light, who first need that state in order to be able to intervene helpfully. But the desperate situation of a soul can last for endless times until it finally comes to recognize it. And as long as it is close to earth it cannot detach itself from its familiar surroundings and therefore often transfers its own desires onto weak-willed people of the same disposition. It tries to stimulate them to do what it considers to be the only desirable thing. And therefore it cannot be emphasized enough that prayer for such souls is a help to them in their agonizing situation, as it weakens their desire for earthly possessions and at the same time the soul feels the strength of such prayer, as it begins to reflect and can thus take the first step into the spiritual kingdom. The prayer for the deceased should always apply to their still weak will and thereby give them the strength to strengthen this will so that it demands to rise....

Tormentos del alma en el más allá.... Deseo de bienes terrenales....

La situación desesperada en la que se encuentra un ser humano que sólo desea el mundo y sus bienes sólo se vuelve bastante comprensible después de su muerte. Porque lo que ahora desea es inalcanzable para él y, sin embargo, el deseo le atormenta de manera inimaginable. La codicia por ello es mucho mayor que en la Tierra, precisamente porque sigue sin cumplirse. No desea los bienes espirituales, sólo se esfuerza por adquirir lo que le parece deseable en la vida terrena y recuerda todas esas cosas.

Estos pensamientos de deseo ahora también se cumplen, es decir, todo lo que desea está ahí, pero ya no es tangible, sino sólo en su imaginación, de modo que su codicia se eleva al nivel más alto y, sin embargo, sin cumplirse. Estos son verdaderos tormentos de tántalo hasta que toma conciencia de su estado desesperado y supera su deseo, es decir, hasta que se da cuenta que está persiguiendo fantasmas que permanecen eternamente inalcanzables. Sólo entonces comienza a reflexionar acerca de la desesperanza de su estado y a considerar las posibilidades de un cambio, y ahora también encuentra apoyo por parte de los seres del reino de la luz, quienes primero necesitan este estado para poder intervenir ayudando.

Pero la situación desesperada de un alma puede durar tiempos infinitos hasta que finalmente llega a reconocerla. Y mientras esté cerca de la Tierra, no puede separarse de su entorno familiar y, por lo tanto, a menudo transfiere sus propios deseos a seres humanos de voluntad débil y del mismo carácter. Intenta estimularlos para que hagan lo que ella considera lo único deseable.

Y por tanto no se puede enfatizar lo suficiente la oración por tales almas, ya que las ayuda en su dolorosa situación, debilitando el deseo por los bienes terrenales y al mismo tiempo el alma siente la fuerza de tal oración y comienza al volverse reflexiva y así puede dar el primer paso hacia el reino espiritual. La oración por los difuntos siempre debe dirigirse hacia su voluntad aún débil y con ello se le debe dar la fuerza para fortalecer esta voluntad de modo que anhele las alturas....
