Lack of faith.... power of prayer.... coincidences....

Remember the lord everywhere and at all times, and you will also become aware of His faithful care in all adversity. Anyone who places himself in His care truly need not worry about what tomorrow will bring, and anyone who lifts his eyes to Him in right trust will find his fate in God's hands. The person of little faith, on the other hand, resists the danger from outside and yet cannot turn it away from himself, for he needs it to awaken or increase his faith and trust in the lord, and if he is timid and does not grant his prayer strength he will have a hard time fighting, and this is only due to his lack of faith. In the forthcoming time all those who lack faith will be in dire straits and a palpable pressure will weigh upon them.... (24.5.1939) For example, people put themselves in the position of having to make a decision in an important matter and not being oriented to how the consequences of the decision he has made, he will always feel a certain uncertainty and understandably ask for advice, and then he will turn to someone who is able to assess both the benefit and the harm which every decision entails, and he will advise him to his advantage. But in exactly the same way the divine saviour also wants to be asked for His advice in every earthly matter, because He is nevertheless able to create the greatest possible advantage for the earthly child, which not only has a physical but also a purely spiritual effect on it. But this again requires first establishing the childlike connection with the father, for only a child is able to pray so intimately to the father that it will also be fulfilled. And therefore the lord also called out to all of you: "Come to Me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest...." And if the father in heaven gives you this assurance, your faith shall be based on these words.... You shall unconditionally accept what the lord and saviour says.... you shall not doubt and not hesitate to comply with the divine will and carry an unlimited trust in Him in your heart.... And you shall remember the everlasting care of the divine lord. Not for one second does the lord withdraw His will from you, His creatures. The most diverse coincidences in life should make people think that, according to a certain wise plan, all events in life happen as they do, and these coincidences are only the visible intervention of an invisible power. And therefore the human being must also stand in the midst of all events, and the controller of all works of creation must also be granted the power to be able to avert the destined fates at will, and therefore the human being needs prayer so that he himself has it in his hands to hand over everything difficult to the divine lord and thereby be allowed to walk his earthly path unburdened and thus, to a certain extent, to choose the path which brings him the greatest advantage in spiritual matters, which brings him the greatest spiritual advantage without, however, excluding divine strength, for it is only this which ensures the right success for the being on earth.... but which has to be asked for consciously and therefore the human being recognizes the divinity with deep faith and Its working in love, omnipotence and wisdom....

Gebrek aan geloof – Macht van het gebed – Toeval

Denk overal en altijd aan de Heer en jullie zullen ook Zijn trouwe steun in alle nood gewaarworden. Degene, die zich in Zijn bescherming begeeft, hoeft zich waarlijk geen zorgen te maken over wat de volgende dag hem brengt. En het lot van degene, die in werkelijk vertrouwen zijn blik naar Hem opheft, ligt in Gods hand. De kleingelovige daarentegen weert zich tegen het gevaar van buiten en kan het toch niet van zich afwenden, want voor hem is ze nodig, opdat zijn geloof en zijn vertrouwen in de Heer ontwaken of toenemen. En als hij nu aarzelend is en aan zijn gebed geen kracht toekent, zal hij zwaar te strijden hebben. En dit enkel door het gebrek aan geloof.

In de komende tijd zullen al degenen, die het aan geloof ontbreekt, in erge nood geraken en een voelbare druk zal op hen uitgeoefend worden. De mens plaatst zich bijvoorbeeld in een toestand, waarin hij een besluit moeten nemen over een belangrijke kwestie, waarbij hij zich niet op de hoogte gebracht heeft voor wat betreft het effect, dat de genomen beslissing kan hebben. Dan zal een bepaalde onzekerheid hem grijpen. En hij zal begrijpelijkerwijs om raad vragen en hij zal zich nu tot iemand wenden, die in staat is om zowel het nut als ook het nadeel te beoordelen, die deze beslissing tot gevolg heeft en deze zal hem in zijn voordeel adviseren.

Maar precies zo wil de goddelijke Heiland ook in aardse kwesties om Zijn raad gevraagd worden, omdat Hij toch in staat is om het mensenkind het grootst mogelijke voordeel te verschaffen, die niet alleen een lichamelijk, maar ook een zuiver geestelijk effect heeft. Maar dit vereist ook eerst weer, dat de kinderlijke verbinding met de Vader tot stand gebracht wordt, want alleen een kind is in staat om zo innig tot de Vader te bidden, dat hem ook vervulling gegeven wordt. En daarom heeft de Heer hen ook allemaal toegeroepen: “Kom allen tot Mij, die vermoeid en belast zijn, en Ik zal jullie verkwikken”.

En als de Vader in de hemel jullie deze verzekering geeft, moet jullie geloof steun vinden aan deze woorden. Jullie moeten onvoorwaardelijk aannemen, wat de Heer en Heiland zegt, niet twijfelen en niet aarzelen om de goddelijke wil te vervullen en een onbegrensd vertrouwen in Hem in het hart te dragen. En jullie moeten denken aan de eeuwigdurende zorg van de Heer. De Heer trekt Zijn wil geen moment van jullie, Zijn schepselen, terug.

De meest veelsoortige toevalligheden in het leven zouden de mensen te denken moeten geven, dat alle gebeurtenissen in het leven volgens een bepaald wijs plan zo plaatsvinden, zoals dat het geval is en juist deze toevalligheden zijn alleen maar een zichtbaar ingrijpen van een onzichtbare macht. En dus moet ook de mens te midden van alle gebeurtenissen staan, en de Leider van alle scheppingswerken moet ook die macht toegekend worden, om de toebedachte beschikkingen van het lot naar believen te kunnen afwenden.

En de mens heeft het gebed nodig, opdat hij het zelf in de hand heeft om al het moeilijke aan de goddelijke Heer over te geven en daardoor bevrijd zijn gang over de aarde te mogen gaan en in zekere zin dus de weg te kiezen, die hem in geestelijk opzicht het grootste voordeel brengt. Echter zonder de goddelijk kracht uit te schakelen, want deze is het pas, die het aardse wezen van het juiste resultaat verzekert. Dit moet echter bewust afgesmeekt worden. De mens erkent zo dus in diep geloof de Goddelijkheid en Diens werkzaam zijn in liefde, almacht en wijsheid.
