Nič, kar je zunanje, ne deluje blagodejno na vaše notranje življenje; nikakršne formalnosti ne morejo prispevati k dozorevanju vaše duše in jo voditi do popolnosti.... Vašo spremembo narave je mogoče uresničiti edino znotraj, zaradi česar bi se morali vi ljudje pogosto umakniti v samoto, da bi se preverili (ocenili) in odstranili vse, kar vas onečiščuje, karkoli nepopolnega je še ostalo skrito znotraj vas samih.... Zunanji izvori lahko zagotovo usmerijo vašo pozornost na to, da izvajate vaše delo na duši; vi ste lahko podučeni, kako ga lahko uresničite, na kaj morate biti pozorni.... čemu se morate izogibati, ker je le to škodljivo, in kaj bi morali storiti, da bi postali popolni.... vendar pa morate vi to uresničiti sami, in to edino tako, da se ločite od vsega zunanjega, celo če ste sredi sveta in ste prisiljeni izpolniti vaše obveznosti. Vseeno pa mora biti to delo na duši izvedeno hkrati (istočasno), ker je le to povsem neodvisno o vaši zaposlitvi. Ono se namreč tiče notranje narave, vaših napak in slabih navad; ono se tiče notranjega življenja človeškega bitja, njegovega razmišljanja, volje in obnašanja, katero.... četudi je usmerjeno na svetoven način.... mora izžarevati Ljubezen, ker se drugače ne more govoriti o preobrazbi osebnosti.
Zaradi tega mora biti vaše delo na duši sestavljeno iz prečiščevanja vašega razmišljanja in naklonjenosti ter njihovih usmeritev do Božanskih ciljev. Vi morate vedno vložiti napor, da živite življenje brez koristoljubja, življenje nesebičnosti, nežnosti, potrpljenja in miroljubnosti.... Vi morate znotraj vas razviti vse dobre kvalitete in pregnati vse slabe (zle) misli ter značilnosti (karakteristike).... Vse to pa zahteva iskreno voljo, da se živi pravilno pred Bogom.... To ni potrebno, da je navzven očitno oz. ne bi bilo potrebno, da je prikazano navzven.... čeprav pa življenje v skladu z Božjo voljo ravno tako vedno vpliva na vaša bližnja človeška bitja; ono stimulira na posnemanje in bo vedno bolj učinkovito od mnogega besedičenja ali formalnih običajev, kater še ne zagotavljajo nikakršne notranje spremembe stališča.
Oseba se lahko spremeni edino, če se resno preverja tako, ko razmisli o njegovih pomankljivostih in napakah ter se odloči, da bopostala boljša. In te notranje spremembe se mora lotiti vsaka oseba posamezno, če želi doseči njen cilj, da postane popolna (Matej 5:48). Odločitev pa morajo spremljati dela, ker drugače volja ni iskrena.... In iz tega lahko zopet dojamete, da ni veroizpoved tista, ki bi odločila o blaženosti, temveč je to vedno človeško bitje, da znotraj samega sebe prižge Ljubezen, ki ga popolnoma preoblikuje, ki vse slabe značilnosti (karakteristike) spreminja v tiste dobre in ki je zato edini način (ki vodi) do popolnosti.... kar pa lahko prakticirajo vsi ljudje ne glede na to, kateri veroizpovedi oni pripadajo.... Vse veroizpovedi namreč učijo Ljubezen.... in to je razlog, zakaj vse te lahko vodijo k popolnosti, čeprav pa nobena veroizpoved ne more zagotoviti te popolnosti.... edino človeško bitje jo lahko uresniči preko resnega dela na napredovanju samega sebe.

External sources can certainly draw your attention to conducting this psychological work, you can be taught how to achieve it, what you ought to observe.... what you must avoid because it is harmful and what you should do to become perfect.... but you must accomplish it yourselves and only by means of detaching yourselves from everything external even if you are in the midst of the world and forced to fulfil your duties. Yet this psychological work has to be carried out simultaneously because it is entirely independent of your occupation, for it concerns your inner nature, your faults and bad habits, it concerns the human being's inner life, his thinking, volition and conduct which.... even if it is directed in a worldly way.... ought to emanate love, otherwise a transformation of personality cannot be spoken of.
Hence your psychological work has to consist of refining your thinking and inclinations and of directing them towards divine goals; you always have to make an effort to live a life of unselfishness, selflessness, gentleness and patience, of peacefulness.... You have to develop all good qualities within yourselves and expel bad thoughts and attributes.... And all this requires the sincere will to live correctly before God.... It need not become outwardly obvious, that is, it should not be outwardly displayed.... yet a life in accordance with God's will also always affects your fellow human beings, it stimulates imitation and will always be more effective than many speeches or formal customs which do not yet vouch for an inner change of attitude.
A person can only change if he takes serious stock of himself by thinking about his shortcomings and faults and resolves to improve himself. And this inner change has to be undertaken by every person himself if he wants to reach his goal of becoming perfect. The resolve also has to be followed by the deed or the will is not in earnest.... And from this you can realise again that the attainment of beatitude is not determined by the denomination but only ever by the human being's will to kindle love within himself which totally transforms him, which turns all bad attributes into good ones and which therefore is the only means of becoming perfect.... but which can be practised by all people, irrespective of which denomination they belong to.... All denominations, however, teach love.... this is why all of them can lead to perfection, yet no denomination can guarantee this perfection.... only the human being can achieve it by the serious work of improving himself....
