Juistheid van denken en handelen naar de aan God onderworpen wil

De innerlijke aandrang verwijst de mens juist indien hij ernaar streeft Gods wil te vervullen. Hij hoeft dus niet te vrezen iets verkeerds te doen, want de in hem belichaamde intelligenties, de substanties van zijn ziel, wijzen hem aan hoe te denken en te handelen. De ziel moet nu als het ware willen zoals God het wil, daar de menselijke wil zich bewust heeft onderworpen aan de goddelijke wil. Een eigen wil die tegen God is gericht valt dan af.

Het is onmogelijk dat een mens die Gods wil vervullen wil iets kan doen wat niet overeenstemt met de goddelijke wil, alleen moet zijn wil heel serieus op God gericht zijn, niet dat alleen gedachteloos uitgesproken woorden uiterlijk getuigenis zullen afleggen van de aan God ondergeschikte wil. Wie probeert nader tot God te komen zal steeds trachten naar de goddelijke wil te leven. En alles wat hij denkt en doet is afhankelijk van zijn huidige wil. Het wezenlijke in de mens wordt nu bepaald door goddelijke geestkracht, dat wil zeggen: het geestelijke buiten de mens tracht zich te verbinden met het geestelijke in de mens en brengt als het ware zijn wil - die overeenstemt met de goddelijke wil - over op het geestelijke dat de mens in zich draagt. Dit herkent dadelijk de wil en geeft er zonder tegenspraak gevolg aan. De mens handelt dus vanuit innerlijke aandrang, wat het werk is van geestelijke krachten in het hiernamaals.

Wat de mens nu aanvangt, kan soms wel de indruk wekken niet juist te zijn, en toch moet de mens zich niet in de war laten brengen. Het is juist, alleen voor de mens niet altijd even begrijpelijk. Want als hij zich op God richt en dus de juiste verhouding tot de Vader als Diens kind tot stand brengt, dan beschermt de Vader het ook tegen verkeerd denken en tegen elk onjuist handelen. Hij laat Zijn kind zich niet vergissen. Hij zal het zorgzaam op de juiste weg leiden, ook wanneer deze weg het kind nog onbegaanbaar toeschijnt zodat het zal vrezen verkeerd te zijn gegaan. De mens moet dan het vaste geloof en het diepe vertrouwen in God bewijzen dat God nooit iets kan toelaten wat Zijn schepsel tot nadeel voor de ziel strekt wanneer dit toch God om bijstand vraagt ter wille van zijn ziel.

Het innige gebed: "Heer, uw wil geschiede" duidt op volledige onderwerping en is tegelijkertijd ook een beroep op Zijn zorg. Want nu heeft het mensenkind zijn leven, zijn denken en doen geheel toevertrouwd aan de hemelse Vader in het geloof nu door Hem zelf met zorg te worden omringd en geleid. En dit geloof laat God niet verloren gaan. En vanaf dat ogenblik is de mens van zijn verantwoordelijkheid ontheven, want God zelf bepaalt nu het denken en handelen van degene die met al zijn liefde en vol overgave aan Hem de vrije wil heeft geofferd.

Correctness of thought and action in God's subordinate will....

The innermost instinct instructs the human being correctly as long as he strives to fulfil God's will. And thus he need not fear doing something wrong, for the intelligences embodied in him, the substances of his soul, instruct him to think and act. The soul must now, as it were, will as God wills, since the human will has consciously subordinated itself to the divine will. An own will that is contrary to God is then ruled out. It is impossible that a human being who wants to fulfil God's will can do something that does not correspond to the divine will, only his will must be turned towards God in all seriousness, not just thoughtlessly spoken words outwardly intended to testify to a will subordinate to God. Whoever seeks to come close to God will always endeavour to live in the divine will, and everything he does and thinks is conditioned by (in?) his now present will. The beingness in man is now determined by divine spiritual power, i.e., the spiritual outside of man seeks the connection with the spiritual in man and as it were transfers his will, which is in harmony with the divine will, to the spiritual sheltered in man. This immediately recognizes the will and obeys it without contradiction.... the human being therefore acts out of his innermost impulse, which is the working of spiritual forces from the beyond. What the human being now begins may sometimes give the impression of not being right, and yet the human being should not allow himself to be put off.... it is right, but not always immediately comprehensible to man. For insofar as he turns to God and thus establishes the right relationship with the father as His child, the father also protects him from wrong thinking and from every wrong action. He does not allow His child to go astray, He carefully guides it along the right path, even if this path still seems impassable to the child so that it fears that it has gone wrong. The human being must then prove his firm faith and deep trust in God that God can never allow something to happen which is detrimental to His creature's soul if the latter asks God for help for the sake of his soul. The heartfelt prayer 'lord, Thy will be done' is complete submission and yet at the same time the utilization of His care, for now the earthly child has completely handed over its life, its actions and thoughts to the heavenly father in the belief that it will now be cared for and guided by Him Himself. And God will not let this faith come to nothing.... And from the very beginning the human being is relieved of his responsibility, for God Himself now determines the thoughts and actions of the one who has sacrificed his free will to Him in deepest love and devotion....
