믿음을 갖기 위해 사랑이 필요하다.

너희가 어떻게 믿음에 도달할 수 있는지 물으면, 이는 너희가 믿기 원하는 증거이고 너희를 목표로 인도하는 길을 찾는 증거이다. 너희 모든 사람은 세상적인 어려움 속에 의지할 데가 필요하다. 왜냐면 너희 홀로는 너무 연약함을 느끼고 너희 육체의 능력만으로 할 수 없음을 느끼기 때문이다. 그러면 너희는 더 높은 권세에게 의탁할 수 있다는 것을 믿기 원한다. 그러나 너희 대부분에게 이런 믿음이 부족하다.

왜냐면 너희가 이성을 통해 이런 믿음을 얻을 수 없기 때문이다. 너희는 이성적으로 너희가 믿기 원하는 한 권세에 대한 증거를 얻을 수 없다. 너희는 이 권세와 가장 긴밀하게 연관되어 있다. 이 권세의 의지가 너희 운명을 정한다. 이 권세는 가장 온전한 존재이고 너희가 그를 부르면, 그 자신이 너희에게 가까이 다가간다.

그러나 너희는 최고로 온전한 존재가 스스로 자신을 너희에게 증명할 수 있게 만들 수 있다. 이 존재는 이성적으로 증명할 수 없는 내적인 확신을 너희에게 줄 것이다. 왜냐면 최고로 높은 존재가 자신을 여러 가지 방식으로 사람들에게 계시하기 때문이다. 그러나 그는 자신을 모든 것을 창조한 창조주의 영으로 인정하는 일과 진리를 향한 갈망과 사랑의 삶을 살아야 한다는 조건을 단다.

하나님 자신의 창조주에 권세가 너희와 연결을 이루고 너희가 확신을 가진 믿음을 갖게 돕기 위해 이런 선행조건은 꼭 필요하다. 이성의 사람은 항상 증거를 구하고 증명할 수 없는 모든 것을 거절한다. 그는 절대로 이성으로 자신 안에 세운 세계를 떠나 다른 세계로 가지 않는다. 그러므로 그는 다른 세계를 깨닫지 못하고 다른 세계는 그에게 숨겨져 있다. 그러나 사랑의 삶을 사는 모든 사람이 이 세계에 들어갈 수 있다.

왜냐면 이런 사람은 자신의 사랑의 삶을 통해 영원한 사랑 자신과 이미 연결을 이루기 때문이다. 사랑 자체가 이제 그가 갈망하는 진리로 그를 인도한다. 그는 확신을 가지고 영원한 사랑을 부인하지 않는다. 그러나 너희 안의 사랑이 식었기 때문에 너희 사람은 진리로부터 아주 멀리 떨어져 있다. 그러므로 너희는 더 이상 믿을 수 없다.

너희에게 믿게 요구하는 모든 것이 너희에게는 실제가 아닌 것처럼 보인다. 너희 생각은 단지 실제의 세상 안에 머문다. 너희 이성이 열심히 활동하지만 모든 것의 최종적인 의미를 알려 주는 영적인 지식이 비어 있고 부족하다. 너희는 심지어 예수 그리스도 안의 하나님의 큰 계시를 예수 안에서 하나님이 인간이 된 일을 전설로 여길 정도로 거만해진다.

나기는 너희 안에 한번 이성이 아니라 심장이 말하게 하라는 작은 자극을 따르지 않는다. 너희는 단지 유일하게 심장이 판단할 수 있는 모든 일을 이성으로 해결하려고 한다. 왜냐면 너희 심장이 사랑이 부족함으로 더 이상 판단할 능력이 없기 때문이다. 인간 예수의 사명은 구속사역과 함께 사람들에게 사랑의 삶을 모범적으로 사는 일이었다.

왜냐면 사랑의 삶 만이 유일하게 영을 밝히는데 도움을 주기 때문이다. 사랑의 삶이 진리에 가까이 다가가게 하고 신적인 근원을 증명하는 사람 안의 모든 능력을 발전시키기 위해 절대적으로 필요하기 때문이다. 예수님은 사랑을 설교했고 하나님의 사랑의 가르침을 전하라는 사명을 제자들에게 주었다.

바로 이 사랑의 가르침이 기독교의 종교를 구성하는 기초이다. 그러나 이런 사랑의 가르침에 아주 적게 주의를 기울인다. 그러므로 사람들의 영적인 상태가 왜 어두운지를 이해할 수 있다. 왜 믿음이 대부분 형식적인 믿음을 벗어나지 못하는지 왜 항상 또 다시 하나님의 계시가 공격받거나 또는 믿지 못할 것으로 거절 받는지 이해할 수 있다.

사랑만이 유일하게 진리에 도달하는 열쇠이다. 사랑은 아주 큰 세상 지혜로도 아주 날카로운 이성으로도 대신할 수 없다. 왜냐면 사랑이 유일하게 반박할 수 없게 하나님과 연결시키기 때문이다. 사람의 모든 사랑의 역사가 하나님과 연합이 되게 하고 하나님이 사랑을 통해 자신을 자신의 원래의 성품과 같게 만드는 사람들에게 자신의 영을 흘려 주기 때문이다.

하나님은 이런 사람에게 자신을 계시할 수 있고 계시할 것이다. 하나님은 사람이 인간의 이성으로 도달할 수 없는 영역을 바라볼 수 있게 해줄 것이다. 하나님은 사람의 영을 깨우치고 사람에게 가장 깊은 지혜를 하나님의 구원계획과 이 계획의 이유를 이해할 수 있게 해줄 것이다.

Faith conditions love....

If you ask how you can attain faith, this is already a sign that you want to believe and that you are looking for a path which will lead you to the aim. In times of earthly adversity you humans all need support, for then you feel that you are too weak on your own, that your physical strength alone is not enough, and then you would also like to believe that you could entrust yourselves to a higher power, but this faith is usually lacking. For you cannot acquire it through your intellect, you cannot intellectually create evidence for what you want to believe in.... in a power with Whom you are most closely connected, Whose will determines your destiny, Who is a being of supreme perfection and Who draws close to you when you call upon It. But you can cause this supreme being to prove Itself to you, and It will give you the inner conviction of that which cannot be proven intellectually. For this supreme being reveals Himself to the human being in many ways. But It places conditions on it: the acknowledgement of Itself, the creator-spirit, from Whom everything emerged, the serious desire for truth.... and a way of life in love.... These conditions are indispensable for this creative power.... God Himself.... will enter into contact with you and help you to a convinced faith. The rational man will constantly look for proofs and reject everything that cannot be proven.... He never steps out of the world he has intellectually built within himself into another world, and he therefore cannot recognize the latter either, it remains hidden from him. But it can be entered by every person who lives in love.... For through his life of love he already establishes the connection with the eternal love Itself, Which he is unable to deny with conviction, and love Itself then guides him into the truth he desires. But you humans are very far away from the truth because love has grown cold in you. And therefore you are no longer able to believe, everything you are asked to believe seems unreal to you; you only move with your thoughts in the real world, and despite eager intellectual activity you remain empty and poor in spiritual knowledge.... of the knowledge that reveals the ultimate meaning of all things.... yes, you even presume to reject the great revelation of God in Jesus Christ, His incarnation in Jesus, into the realm of legend. You do not give in to the quiet impulses within you to let the heart speak for once instead of the intellect. You try to meet everything with reason, which only the heart can judge.... because your heart is no longer able to do so due to a lack of love. The mission of the man Jesus, apart from the act of salvation, also consisted of living a life of love to people.... because such alone helps to enlighten the spirit, because a life of love is indispensable in order to come close to the truth and to develop all forces in the human being which testify to a divine origin. Love was preached by Jesus, the disciples were instructed to spread the divine teaching of love. And this doctrine of love is the foundation on which the christian religions were also built.... But so little attention is paid to this teaching of love that it is understandable why people's spiritual state is darkened, why faith mostly does not go beyond a formal belief and why divine revelations are repeatedly attacked or rejected as untrustworthy. Love alone is the key to truth, and love cannot be replaced by worldly wisdom, no matter how great, by intellect, no matter how sharp.... for love alone is the irrefutable bond with God, Who unites Himself with the human being in every work of love, Who allows His spirit to overflow onto the human being who, through love, assimilates himself to His original being.... And God can and will reveal Himself to this human being, He will let him gain insight into areas which are inaccessible to the human intellect, He will enlighten his spirit and give him fullest understanding for profoundest wisdoms and for His plan of salvation and its reason....
