사랑의 섬김을 통한 구원. 묶임은 받은 상태와 자유의지를 가진 상태

어떤 존재도 섬기는 일을 하지 않고 자신을 구원할 수 없다. 이는 묶임을 받은 존재와 자유의지를 가진 상태에 있는 존재, 모두에게 적용이 된다. 섬기는 일이 항상 자신의 겉형체를 벗어날 수 있는 상태에 도달하기 위한 전제 조건이다. 존재가 더 자원하여 섬기는 일을 할수록, 그는 더 빠르게, 마지막 겉형체인 인간의 육체가 혼을 감싸게 될 때까지 겉형체를 바꿀 수 있다. 혼이 이제 마지막 겉형체를 벗어나 방해를 받지 않고, 짐이 없이 영의 나라에 들어갈 수 있기 위해 성취시켜야만 하는 과제는 다시 사랑으로 섬기는 일이다.

사랑으로 섬기는 일이 혼을 자유롭지 못한 상태에서 해방시키는 유일한 일이다. 바로 이런 일에 사람들이 거의 관심을 기울이지 않는다. 그들은 그들의 분주함과 추구하는 일 가운데 더 이상 이웃 사람들을 위한 시간을 찾지 못하고, 그들의 실제의 과제를 잊는다. 그러므로 그들은 지나치게 자신들이 중심에 서있는 것으로 여긴다. 그러므로 그들은 묶여있게 된다. 왜냐면 단지 사랑으로 섬기는 일이 구원하기 때문이다.

이전의 단계에서는 존재들은 하나님의 의지에 의해 섬기는 일을 정함 받는다. 그들은 어떤 의무의 상태에 있고, 이로써 그들은 하나님이 그들에게 부여한 일을 수행해야만 한다. 그러나 인간의 단계에서는 하나님의 의지가 인간이 자신의 뜻에 따라 생각하고 행동할 수 있도록 허용하는 정도로 개입을 하지 않는다.

그러므로 그는 섬기는 일을 하도록 강요를 받지 않게 되고, 그가 자유의지로 섬기는 일을 해야만 하고, 그렇게 하려는 동력이 심장 안에 있어야만 한다. 그러므로 그 안에서 사랑이 불타올라야만 한다. 왜냐하면 사랑이 비로소 그가 이웃사람을 섬기는 일을 하도록 재촉하기 때문이다. 그러나 사랑이 없으면, 그에게는 추진력이 없고, 그는 이 땅의 과제로 그에게 부여된 일을 수행하지 못한다. 모든 인류가 이로 인해 병이 든다.

사랑을 행하려면, 사람이 아직 사랑 안에 거하지 않는 정도에 따라, 자기 자신을 가장 크게 극복해야 한다. 그러나 사랑의 불씨가 그의 심장 안에서 타오르면, 그는 사랑을 행하지 않을 수 없게 된다. 왜냐하면 사랑은 힘이고, 그러나 힘은 절대로 활동하지 않고 머물을 수 없고, 항상 일하도록 자극할 것이기 때문이다. 다시 말해 사랑은 항상 이웃 사람들을 행복하게 하는 방식으로 자신을 표현하기를 원하게 될 것이기 때문이다.

그러므로 사람은 그가 행복하게 해주기를 원하는 사람을 섬긴다. 이로써 그는 이전의 그의 죄짐을 벗어나게 된다. 왜냐면 그가 교만한 가운데 통치하기를 원했기 때문이다. 그러므로 섬기는 일은 그에게 끝 없이 긴 기간 동안 견뎌온 속박으로부터 해방을 의미하고, 동시에 겉형체를 불필요하게 만든다. 이로써 혼이 마지막 겉형체를 벗을 수 있게 한다. 왜냐하면 혼이 하나님을 향한 이전의 태도를 포기했고, 혼이 더 이상 하나님을 대적하지 않고, 사랑이 되었고, 다시 말해 하나님과 같은 뜻을 갖게 되었고, 결과적으로 하나님과의 분리를 완전히 극복했고, 이로써 하나님과 하나가 된 것을 증명했기 때문이다.

하나님과의 연합은 영화되는 일을 의미한다. 다시 말해 세상적인 변형이 이제 불필요하게 되고, 혼의 모든 부담이 제거된다. 그러나 하나님과의 연합은 단지 사랑 안에서 일어날 수 있고, 사랑의 역사는 하나님께 더 가까워지게 한다. 왜냐면 하나님이 모든 사랑의 역사에 임재하기 때문이다. 그러나 하나님께 다가가는 일을 목표로 세운 사람은 이미 사랑 안에 거한다. 왜냐하면 그가 하나님을 사랑하기 때문에, 하나님과 연합하기를 원하기 때문이다. 그러므로 그는 그런 소원을 통해 대적자의 권세로부터 자유롭게 된다. 그는 사랑을 통해 자신을 구원한 것이다.

Redemption through serving in love.... mandatory state and free will....

Without serving activity, no being can redeem itself. This applies to beings in bound as well as in free will. Serving activity is always the prerequisite for reaching the state which lets it become free of its outer form. And the more willingly the being subjects itself to serving activity the faster it can change the outer form until the last outer form, the flesh body of man, surrounds the soul, and now again serving in love is the task, which the soul must fulfil to also flee from the last outer form and to be able to enter the spiritual kingdom unencumbered. Serving in love is the only thing that frees the soul from its unfree state, and it is precisely this that people pay so little attention to. In their hustle and bustle they no longer find time for other people, they forget the actual task because they consider themselves to be too much the centre of attention. And therefore they remain bound, for only service in love redeems. In the preliminary stages the beings are determined by divine will to be of service, they are in a certain state of compulsion so that they have to carry out the activity God has assigned to them. As a human being, however, divine will is excluded insofar as He allows the human being to think and act according to His will. And therefore he is not forced into a serving activity but he has to be active in a serving way of his own free will. The drive to do so must be present in his heart, love must therefore be kindled in him, for only this drives him to be of service to his neighbour. Without love, however, he lacks the drive and the human being will then not fulfil his earthly task. And the whole of humanity suffers from this....

To be active in love requires the greatest overcoming of oneself as long as the human being is not yet in love. But once the flame of love has been kindled in his heart he cannot help but be active in love, for love is strength, but strength can never remain inactive, it will always stimulate activity, thus it will always want to express itself in a way that makes his fellow human being happy. And so the human being serves the one he wants to make happy and thereby frees himself from his former guilt.... because he wanted to rule in arrogance.... Serving therefore means for him a liberation from an endless time endured bondage and at the same time makes the outer form unnecessary, so that therefore the soul can discard its last outer form, because it has thereby proven that it has given up its former attitude against God, that it is no longer against God, but has become love, therefore stands in God-like will, consequently has completely overcome the separation from God, therefore has become one with Him. Union with God means spiritualization, thus earthly deformation has now become unnecessary and every burden has been removed from the soul. But the union with God can only take place in love. The works of love bring about a rapprochement with God, since God is present in every work of love. But anyone who has set himself the goal of drawing closer to God is already in love, for he desires to be united with Him because he loves God. And thus, through this desire, he is also free from opposing violence.... He has redeemed himself through love....
