깊이가 없는 믿음.... 언제든지 드리는 예배.... 형식적으로 계명을 지키는 일....

주님의 은혜로 너희에게 주어진 것을 너희는 인간의 심장에 가장 쉽게 접근할 수 있는 형태로 활용해야만 한다. 인간의 생각은 항상 단지 순전히 영적인 것을 둘째로 취급하고 무엇보다 먼저 세상과 세상의 기쁨과 요구에 우선에 두려고 한다. 그러한 태도는 인생에서 혼의 성숙을 거의 보장해주지 못한다. 왜냐하면 단지 분산되지 않은 일이 이 땅의 기간 동안에 완성에 도달하는 일에 도움을 줄 수 있고, 세상의 이익이 여전히 우세할 때 혼의 모든 더 높은 발전은 항상 의심스럽게 되기 때문이다. 그러므로 그런 믿음은 하나님을 향한 생각이 심장에 공간을 얻을 때 단지 믿음을 나타내는, 그러나 이렇게 되기 위해 어느 정도 시간이 필요한 가벼운 그리고 또한 얕은 믿음이다.

사람은 어느 때이건, 항상 믿음 안에 머물러야 한다. 다시 말해 이 믿음이 그의 사람을 지배하게 하여, 그가 하나님과의 긴밀한 연결이 없이는 아무 일도 시작하지 않아야 한다. 그러므로 그는 언제든지 하나님의 뜻을 성취하기 위해 노력하고, 따라서 그가 세상과 세상의 요구 사항을 충족시키기 전에, 무엇보다도 먼저 하나님을 섬기는 일에 관심을 가져야 한다. 하늘의 아버지가 자신의 자녀들을 특정한 이 땅의 시간 만을 위해 준비했다면, 진실로 슬프게 보이게 될 것이다. 그러므로 사람은 항상 하나님을 먼저 찾아야 한다. 그러면 이 땅의 일이 잘 될 것이다. 그러나 하나님은 결코 자신을 뒷전에 두거나 또는 이 땅의 자녀에게 기쁨이 된다면, 하나님을 차선에 두는 일을 원하지 않는다.

단지 형식적인 계명에 순종하기를 원하는 사람은 곧 그런 일이 하나님을 향한 참된 경배가 아님을 알아야만 하게 될 것이다. 사람은 항상 그리고 항상 또 다시 하나님을 향한 사랑으로 충만해야 한다. 그러면 그는 또한 하루 중 매시간 창조주와 대화할 수 있을 것이고, 창조주의 축복을 구하지 않고는 더 이상 어떤 일도 시작할 수 없게 될 것이다. 사람이 항상 하나님께 자신을 고백하고 하나님을 섬길 준비가 되어있을 때, 비로소 참된 예배를 드리는 것이다. 생명력이 있게 믿는 사람은 항상 구세주 주님과 끊임없이 연결이 될 수밖에 없고, 이미 이 땅에서 가장 높은 행복을 찾을 수밖에 없다. 그는 하나님의 창조주와 항상 더 가까워질 것이고, 마침내 하나님의 도움과 축복이 없이는 더 이상 아무 일도 할 수 없게 될 것이다. 세상이 그들을 더 이상 자극하지 못할 것이고, 또한 믿음의 축복을 대신할 수 없을 것이다. 왜냐하면 구세주 주님이 진실로 모든 기쁨의 진수이고, 그의 임재와 사랑이 이 땅의 존재의 모든 기쁨을 능가하기 때문이다.

그러므로 너희는 주님을 향한 소망이 너희 안에서 증가하고, 같은 정도로 너희에게 성취가 되고, 너희의 믿음이 생명으로 깨어날 수 있도록 자신을 형성해야만 한다. 너희는 이제 계명이 너희에게 요구하는 것을 성취할 뿐만 아니라 너희 자신이 동인이 되어 일하게 될 것이다. 그러면 너희는 비로소 하나님 나라의 참된 후보자가 된다. 이로써 너희는 참된 믿음으로 충만하고, 진정으로 하나님을 기쁘게 하는 삶을 살게 된다.

Shallow faith.... worship at any time.... formal keeping of the commandments....

What has come to you through the grace of the lord, you must utilize in the form that finds the easiest access to the human heart. Man's mind is only ever intent on cultivating the pure spiritual in second place and putting the world with its joys and demands first. And such an attitude will make it difficult to vouch for the soul's state of maturity in life.... For only undivided labour can help it to achieve perfection while still on earth, and any higher development of the soul is always called into question if worldly interests still predominate. This is therefore a light but also shallow faith, which only expresses itself when the thoughts of God are given space in the heart.... but this requires a certain amount of time. Man should always and at all times have faith, i.e. allow it to dominate his life in such a way that he does not begin anything without an intimate connection with God, i.e. that he endeavours at all times to fulfil God's will and thus makes it his first concern to serve God before he complies with the world and its demands. If the father in heaven were only ready for His children on earth at certain times, then things would truly look very sad for them.... And so man should always seek God first, then the earthly activity will also take its regular course, but God never wants to be put at the back or only come in second place when it is pleasing to the earthly child. If people who only keep formal commandments were to consider this, they would very soon have to realize that this cannot be true worship of God.... Man should always and forever be imbued with love for God, then he will also be able to hold dialogue with his creator in every hour of the day and will no longer be able to start anything without having asked for His blessing. And only this is true worship when a person always and at all times professes his faith in God and is prepared to serve Him. Anyone who believes in life cannot help but find the highest bliss already on earth in constant contact with his lord and saviour, he will feel drawn ever closer to the divine creator and will ultimately no longer do anything without God's help and blessing.... And the world will no longer irritate him, nor will it be able to replace the blessings of faith, for the lord and saviour is truly the epitome of all pleasure, and His closeness and love outweigh all the joys of earthly existence. And therefore you have to shape yourselves such that the desire for the lord increases in you, and in the same measure you will be fulfilled, and your faith will awaken to life, you will now be active for the lord of your own accord and not just fulfil what is demanded of you by the commandments. And only then will you have become true aspirants of the kingdom of God, only then will you be imbued with true faith and thus live life in a truly God-pleasing way....
