인내하며 십자가를 지는 일.... "주님, 주님의 뜻을 이루소서....“

너의 내면으로 들어가 너의 연약함을 깨닫고, 주님께 도움을 구하라. 그러면 너의 능력은 강해질 것이다. 너는 온유하고 인내하는 가운데 인생의 시험을 견뎌낼 것이다. 그러나 주님의 뜻이 단지 너 자신을 돕기 위해 이러한 시험을 너에게 준다. 사람이 희귀하게 불평하지 않고, 자신에게 주어진 고난에 복종한다.

그러나 사람이 기뻐하고, 감사하고, 모든 고난을 아버지의 손으로부터 받아들이고, 항상 단지 모든 것을 자기 혼의 구원을 위해 올바른 일로 인정하는 일이 바로 하나님의 뜻에 자원해 복종하는 일이다. 고통이 증가되면, 주님이 네가 주님을 향한 사랑으로 인내하며, 견뎌야 할 작은 십자가를 너에게 지워 줄 것이다. 이러한 날들이 혼을 끝없이 행복하게 해줄 것이다.

왜냐하면 육체가 인내하며 견디는 일이 혼의 짐을 덜어주는 일이기 때문이다. 혼의 상태는 항상 더 자유롭게 될 것이다. 육체의 고난은 혼에게 가장 큰 도움이 된다. 사람이 이러한 고난을 기뻐하며 견디면, 혼은 그에게 감사하며, 세상일 가운데 사람의 행복을 위해 내적인 지시를 통해 육체에게 도움을 줄 수 있는 모든 기회를 활용한다.

자신에게 이러한 고난을 보낸 분에게 불평하지 않으면, 모든 고난은 단지 고귀하게 만드는 역사를 할 것이고, 그러므로 항상 사람의 혼의 구원에 도움이 된다. 하나님의 의지에 대항하게 만들려는 유혹이 크다. 그러면 단지 십자가의 주님의 고난을 생각하라. 그의 죽음의 고통이 얼마나 말할 수 없이 컸느냐! 죄악된 인류를 향한 사랑으로 주님이 모든 고난을 얼마나 복종하며 자신의 어깨에 짊어졌느냐!

너희가 이를 명심하면, 너희도 자원해 너희의 작은 십자가를 질 것이다. 왜냐하면 주님이 너희가 견딜 수 있는 능력을 넘어서는 무거운 십자가를 너희에게 주지 않기 때문이다. 주님을 향한 올바른 사랑이 너희의 모든 고난을 달콤하게 만들 것이다. 언젠가 고난과 연관이 되어 있는 작은 빛이 너희에게 비추일 것이다.

너희가 이 땅에서 자원해 고난을 견디는 일을 통해, 영의 나라에서 더할 수 없이 행복하게 해주는 큰 상급을 얻으면, 너희 혼은 기뻐할 것이다. 너희가 사는 동안에 실제 초기에는 너희가 극복할 수 없게 보이는 여러가지 일들을 당한다. 그러므로 너희는 하나님께 원망하고, 그의 가장 거룩한 의지를 거부하려고 한다. 그러나 하나님의 사랑이 너희에게 다른 것을 가르쳐 줄 것이다.

만약에 그가 너희에게 고난을 주면, 이 고난이 단지 너희에게 최선이 된다는 것을 그의 사랑이 깨닫도록 해줄 것이다. 너희가 깨달으면, 이 땅의 존재하는 일이 너희에게 풍성한 상급을 줄 것이다. 그러므로 가장 깊은 심장으로부터 항상 "주님, 당신의 뜻을 이루소서" 라고 기도하라. 너희의 고난은 기쁨으로 바뀔 것이다. 너희는 언젠가 영원 가운데 이 땅의 모든 고난에 대해 너희에게 보상을 해줄 상급을 감사하며 받을 것이다.

Patiently bearing the cross.... 'Lord, Your will be done...'

Look within yourself and recognise your failings and appeal to the Lord for His help, then you will grow in strength and succeed in enduring all tests of life gently and with patience. After all, the Lord's will only sends these to you for your own advancement.... A person will rarely submit to the suffering imposed on him without grumbling, and yet precisely this is a willing submission to God's will, when the human being gladly and gratefully accepts all suffering from the Father's hand and so only ever acknowledges that whatever happens will be right for his soul's salvation. When the pain increases, the Saviour is placing a small cross upon you which, for His sake, you should carry patiently. Such days will make the soul infinitely happy, for whatever is tolerantly carried by the body is removed from the soul and it will enter an increasingly more liberated state. The body's suffering is the soul's greatest help, and if the human being bears it gladly, the soul will be grateful for it and, in turn, will use every opportunity to help the body through inner suggestions which benefit the human being's earthly work. All suffering will only have an ennobling effect if it does not cause bitterness in the person against the One Who inflicts this suffering upon him, and thus it will only ever benefit the person's soul. And if the temptation is great to revolt against God's will, then remember the Lord's suffering on the cross.... How unspeakably painful was His death, and how humbly did the Saviour accept all suffering upon His shoulders out of love for the sinful human race. If you bear this in mind, then you will also gladly carry you small cross, for the Lord will not impose anything upon you that you are incapable of carrying. And the right love for the Saviour will sweeten your every suffering.... One day the significance of suffering will dawn on you and your soul will rejoice, if you were willing on earth and gained many merits through the bearing of suffering, which has an extraordinary effect in the spiritual world. Your lifetime on earth certainly burdens you with much which seems insurmountable to you at first, and thus you quarrel with God and want to object to His most sacred will; nevertheless, God's love will soon teach you otherwise.... it will let you realise that it is only in your best interest when He allows you to suffer, and your earthly existence will be richly rewarded if you have realised it. Therefore, always pray from the bottom of your heart 'Lord, Your will be done....' and your suffering will turn into joy.... and you will gratefully accept the reward which, one day in eternity, will compensate you for all the suffering on earth....
