Earthly flourishing.... Swift decline....

From a worldly point of view you are able to observe continuous thriving, for people strive overzealously for earthly improvements and prosperity, all their thoughts and intentions are purely earthly minded and they seem to bring everything under control to better their living conditions. And yet, from a spiritual point of view, it is a constant decline, for people keep moving away from God, they lose their faith in Him and therefore also every connection, and that means that God's adversary takes complete possession of them, that he is most successful with those people who only pay attention to his domain and are therefore also enslaved by him.... People's goals are earthly prosperity, honour and fame, spiritual goals are unknown to them, and neither do they feel the bleakness and emptiness in their hearts because these are completely filled by earthly thoughts and earthly plans.... And only rarely can their experiences unsettle or change their present thinking.... only rarely will people get tired of their earthly activity and look for another goal to support.... Then destiny must come down hard on them and people's thinking must be forcibly turned into a different direction.... when they themselves are incapable of averting this fate and thus will also have to fight.... Then they might dwell on the futility of their earthly life.... they will recognise a higher Power above themselves which is stronger than their will to live and makes people aware of their own weakness. But every severe stroke of fate is only a means to shake people out of their tranquil earthly existence.... This is a means I use in order to achieve a change of attitude, which is indeed possible when they, through suffering or illness or other difficult situations, have to recognise the futility of their earthly endeavours and start to reflect on their own inadequacy and weakness to have control over such strokes, that they are dependent on a higher Power. Only then might their thinking change, and then they will also strive for another goal than the one they had before.... And there will only ever be a few who turn their way of life around, who will be able to detach themselves from the world and its possessions and then no longer allow themselves to be deceived by worldly flourishing and achievements.

Nevertheless, worldly accomplishments will become increasingly more amazing, for it is a sign of the end that ever greater plans will be pursued and also undertaken which, however, will more and more divert from that which God demands from people and which is of value for eternity.... Wherever earthly matter is given priority that is where God's adversary is involved, for people who only chase after material goods and only make plans to improve their prosperity already belong to him. And these people will also be willing servants to him, they will get ever more enchained by matter and therefore also determine their later fate themselves.... For even if you humans can observe constant thriving and steady progress around you.... you will only be able to enjoy it for a short time, for soon everything will fall prey to destruction and you will lose all earthly acquired possessions.... because God Himself wants to prove to you the fleeting nature of all that which occupies your thoughts and yet is completely worthless.... Therefore you, who are already on the right path, should not let yourselves be deceived.... Don't let your thoughts be misled by believing that the earth can still count on a long existence in view of the fact that so many human plans are being accomplished, which denote worldly progress and a high living standard.... Everything progresses in a worldly way, sooner than you think it will come to an end and people will experience living conditions which you cannot possibly imagine.... For a divine intervention through the forces of nature will give rise to a complete change to which people will have to resign themselves and will only be able to do so if they are in close contact with God and pray for strength, which they then will certainly receive, so that all those will surely be helped who find and take the path to Him.... Only then will you humans realise the transience of earthly matter, and good for him who draws the right conclusions from this realisation, who will be able to detach himself from worldly things and only seeks to gain spiritual wealth.... He can always expect God's blessing and support, he will hand himself over to Him and be guided through all adversity....

세상적인 발전. 곧 일어나는 파괴.

세상적으로 보면 너희는 지속적인 발전을 볼 수 있을 것이다. 왜냐면 사람들이 지나치게 열심으로 세상적인 개선과 세상적인 복지를 추구하기 때문이다. 그들의 모든 감각과 추구하는 것은 단지 세상적으로 향해 있고 겉으로 보기에는 그들은 자신들의 삶의 형편을 개선하기 위해 모든 것을 다스리는 것처럼 보인다. 그러나 영적으로 보면 이는 지속적인 후퇴이다. 왜냐면 항상 점점 더 하나님으로부터 멀기 때문이다.

그들은 하나님을 믿는 믿음을 잃는다. 이로써 하나님과 모든 연결을 잃는다. 이 것은 하나님의 대적자가 전적으로 그들을 소유하게 되었다는 것을 의미한다. 대적자가 자기 자신의 나라에만 주위를 기울이는 그러므로 그에게 귀를 기울이는 이런 세상사람들에 대해 큰 성공함을 의미한다. 세상적인 부유와 명예, 명성이 이런 사람들의 목표이다. 영적인 목표를 그들은 알지를 못한다. 그들은 그들의 자신의 심장에 황량함과 공허를 느낀다.

왜냐면 그들은 세상적인 생각과 세상적인 계획으로 가득 차 있기 때문이다. 아주 희귀하게 경험이 지금까지의 생각을 흔들어 놓거나 또는 바꾸게 한다. 아주 희귀하게 사람들은 자신들의 세상적인 활동에 피곤해지고 자신을 드릴 다른 목표를 구한다. 그러면 심각한 운명이 그에게 닥쳐야만 한다. 사람들의 생각을 강제적으로 다른 곳으로 인도해야만 한다. 만약에 그들 스스로 이런 운명을 피할 할 능력이 없으면, 그들은 스스로 이제 이 운명에 대항해 싸워야만 한다. 그러면 그들은 자신의 세상적인 삶의 무의미함을 깨달을 수 있는 자신들의 삶의 의지보다 더 강한 사람들에게 자신의 연약함을 깨닫게 해주는 자신 위에 있는 한 권세를 깨달을 수 있는 가능성이 있다. 그러나 모든 가혹한 운명적인 일은 단지 사람들을 그들의 세상에 편안함에서 깨어 나게 하기 위한 수단이다. 만약에 그들이 고난과 질병과 다른 가혹한 체험을 통해 세상을 추구하는 것이 소용없음을 깨달아야만 하면, 즉 이런 일을 다스릴 수 없는 자신의 연약함과 부족함을 생각해보기 시작하면, 그들이 높은 권세에 의존되어 있는 것을 깨달아야만 하면, 이는 실제로 가능하다.

그럴 때 비로소 그들의 생각이 바뀔 수 있게 될 것이고 그들이 추구하는 것이 전에보다 다른 것을 향할 것이다. 그들의 삶에서 돌아서는 자신을 세상과 세상의 물질로부터 자유롭게 하는 그리고 이제 더 이상 세상 편에서의 성장과 성공으로 인해 길을 잃지 않는 사람들은 항상 단지 몇몇에 불과 할 것이다. 그러나 세상의 성공은 항상 놀라만 한 것이 될 것이다. 왜냐면 하나님이 사람에게 요구하는 것으로부터 영원을 위해 가치가 있는 것으로부터 항상 더욱 멀어지는 큰 계획을 계속하여 추고하고 실행에 옮기는 것이 종말의 특징이기 때문이다. 세상의 물질을 우선에 두는 곳에서는 세상의 대적자가 참여한 것이다. 왜냐면 단지 물질만을 추구하는 항상 단지 자신의 복지를 높이기 위한 계획만을 실행하는 사람들은 이미 대적자에게 속했기 때문이다. 이런 사람들은 대적자를 자원해 섬길 것이다. 그들은 자신을 더욱 더 물질로 얽맬 것이다. 이로써 자신들의 훗날의 운명을 결정한다.

너희 사람들이 너희 주변에 지속적인 발전과 지속적인 성장을 볼 수 있을지라도 그러나 너희는 단지 짧은 시간 동안만 이로 인해 기뻐하게 할 수 있을 것이다. 왜냐면 곧 모든 것이 파괴될 것이기 때문이다. 너희는 너희가 세상적으로 벌어드린 모든 재물을 잃게 될 것이다. 왜냐면 하나님 자신이 너희에게 너희의 생각이 향해 있는 그러나 전적으로 가치가 없는 이 모든 것들의 헛됨을 증명해 주기를 원하기 때문이다. 그러므로 이미 올바른 길 가운데 있는 너희는 미혹을 당할 필요 없다. 너희는 이 땅이 세상적인 성장과 높은 생활 수준을 의미하는 인간적인 계획이 실현되는 것을 보고서 이 땅이 아주 오래 지속될 것이라는 생각의 오류를 범하게 허용하지 말라. 모든 것이 세상적인 길을 간다.

너희가 생각하는 것보다 빠르게 종말을 맞이할 것이다. 사람들은 너희가 상상할 수 없는 삶의 형편에 처할 것이다. 왜냐면 자연의 권세가 하나님의 개입으로 전적인 변화를 가져오기 때문이다. 이 가운데 사람들은 견뎌야만 한다. 만약에 그들이 하나님과 긴밀하게 연합이 되었다면 그들에게 분명하게 주어질 그리고 그를 향한 길을 찾고 이 길을 가는 모든 사람을 분명하게 도울 하나님께 능력을 구하면, 단지 견디어 낼 수 있을 것이다.

그러면 너희는 얼마나 세상적인 물질이 헛된 것인지 깨닫게 될 것이다. 이런 깨달음으로부터 올바른 결론을 내리고 스스로 세상의 물질로부터 자신을 자유롭게 하고 이제 단지 영적인 재산만을 얻으려고 하는 사람은 복이 있을 것이다. 그는 항상 하나님 자신으로부터 축복과 지원을 기대할 수 있을 것이다. 그는 자신을 하나님께 헌신하고 모든 위험 가운데 인도함을 받을 것이다.
