Free will....
Only your will determines whether you achieve perfection on this earth. Hence earthly life is a matter of your free decision of will. But this does not relate to earthly questions or opinions about earthly plans, it is purely a matter for your soul to make the right decision as to which Lord it accepts above itself. But the human being cannot be forced by either side to make this decision, consequently 'free will' cannot ever be refuted, in spite of the fact that people repeatedly attempt to do so. Only the human being's innermost thoughts matter and this is not subject to any force. For this reason the person can only be influenced by ideas, speeches and various events which are thus intended to affect his thoughts (his will). And this is attempted by the divine as well as by the God-opposing aspect. However, it is always the person's own decision as to which influence he submits himself (yields).... The human being's will is free.... Hence one day he also has to be accountable for the direction he gave his will, because he was given his life as a human being for the purpose of testing his will and sooner or later the soul will have to endure the consequences of its will's decision.
The human being is able to turn his will towards God in every situation of life.... And he can equally submit himself to His adversary.... but he will never be able to hold anyone responsible for his decision of will, neither his fellow human being nor a worldly power, neither God Himself nor His adversary, because it is entirely up to his free will as to whether the direction of his thoughts aim towards God or His adversary.... But his destiny is always determined by God such that he can easily find God, as long as he no longer offers Him inner resistance.... which is thus determined by his free will. People are inclined to refute free will because they are not always able to do what they want to do, however, it is not always a question of what they do, but what they want. For they can be prevented from carrying out actions, again due to the effects of spiritual influences.... but the volition itself cannot be prevented. Therefore the human being should be critical of himself with regard to the direction of his will's expression.... because during his life on earth he knows that he is expected to turn towards God, because God Himself constantly conveys this information to him and he does not live his earthly life entirely without knowledge.... But since he is also influenced by God's adversary it will be inevitable that he has to think about it, and therefore he is already urged to make a decision....
And thus this, too, is the battle between light and darkness, which has to be settled by the person himself and which would be inconceivable without the human being's free will, otherwise only the positive and negative powers would fight each other and one power would then emerge as the winner.... But this is not how the battle between light and darkness should be understood, because it concerns the human being's soul which, in free will, makes its own choice regarding itself. The human being's life on earth is therefore an uninterrupted chain of experiences, discoveries and impressions which stimulate his thinking and which can also enable his thoughts to move into the right direction. But since God's adversary was granted the right to fight for the soul as well, his thinking will also be subject to negative influences and then he will have to make his choice. And the intensity of his resistance to God determines the outcome, it determines the soul's fate after the body's death, which can be exceedingly joyful but also intensely painful. However, irrespective how the will decides.... God's love never abandons the soul, and if it does not achieve its goal in this earthly life it will indeed delay its salvation for an infinitely long time, but sooner or later the right decision will be made by the will, since God's love is strength which the soul will not oppose forever....

De vrije wil
Alleen uw wil is doorslaggevend of u de volmaaktheid op deze aarde bereikt. Het gaat in het aardse leven om de vrije wilsbeslissing, niet met betrekking tot aardse vragen of uw houding tot aardse plannen, maar het gaat alleen om uw ziel dat zij juist beslist welke Heer zij boven zich accepteert.
En tot deze beslissing mag de mens door geen enkele zijde gedwongen worden, want nooit kan een vrije wil ontkend worden, ofschoon dat steeds van de kant van de mensen uit geprobeerd wordt. Alleen het innerlijke denken van de mens is doorslaggevend, en dat staat onder geen dwang. Daarom kan steeds alleen maar op de mens ingewerkt worden door denkbeelden, gesprekken en gebeurtenissen van menigvuldige aard, die nu zijn wil moeten beïnvloeden.
En dat wordt geprobeerd vanuit de Goddelijke- als ook de godsvijandige kant, maar steeds beslist de mens zelf aan welke invloed hij toegeeft, want de wil van van de mens is vrij.
En daarom moet hij zich ook zelf verantwoorden welke richting hij zijn wil op laat gaan, want ten behoeve van deze wilsbeproeving heeft de mens zijn bestaan op aarde gekregen, omdat de ziel eenmaal de gevolgen van haar wilsbeslissing moet dragen.
De mens kan in alle levensomstandigheden zijn wil naar GOD toe keren, maar hij kan zich evenzo aan de tegenstander van GOD onderwerpen. Nooit kan hij echter zijn medemensen, een wereldlijke macht, GODZelf of Zijn tegenstander verantwoordelijk stellen voor zijn wilsbeslissing. Het is de zaak van zijn geheel vrije wil welke richting zijn gedachten opgaan, of ze zich tot GOD of tot ZIJN tegenstander keren.
Maar steeds is hem door GOD zijn lot zo opgelegd dat hij gemakkelijk de weg naar GOD kan vinden wanneer hij HEM maar geen innerlijke weerstand biedt, wat dus door zijn vrije wil bepaald wordt. De mensen echter zijn geneigd een vrije wil te betwisten omdat zij niet altijd kunnen realiseren wat zij willen, maar het gaat niet om wat zij doen maar om wat zij willen. Want tot het doen kunnen zij door de inwerking van geestelijke krachten gehinderd worden, nooit echter tot het willen zelf.
En daarom moet de mens tegenover zichzelf kritiek uitoefenen voor welke richting zijn wil zich uitspreekt, want hij weet dat er in dit aardse leven van hem gevraagd wordt zich tot GOD te keren. Want GOD doet hem altijd weer zulke aanwijzingen toekomen, zodat hij niet geheel zonder kennis door het aardse leven gaat. Daar hij echter ook door de tegenstander van GOD beïnvloed wordt zal het niet uitblijven dat hij moet nadenken, en hij zodoende al tot een beslissing gedwongen wordt.
Dit dus is de strijd tussen licht en duisternis die de mens zelf beslissen moet, wat evenwel zonder de vrije wil van de mens niet denkbaar zou zijn. Want anders zou de strijd alleen tussen de positieve en de negatieve krachten gevoerd worden, waaruit dan een kracht als overwinnaar tevoorschijn zou komen. Maar zo is de strijd tussen "licht en duisternis" niet te verstaan, want het gaat om de ziel van de mens en die beslist zelf over zich in vrije wil.
Daarom is het aardse leven voor de mens een ononderbroken aaneenschakeling van gebeurtenissen, van ervaringen en indrukken die hem tot nadenken aansporen en hem ook in de goede richting kunnen laten denken.
Maar omdat ook GOD's tegenstander dat recht gegeven is om voor de ziel te vechten, worden zijn gedachten ook negatief beïnvloed en moet hij een beslissing nemen. En de sterkte van weerstand tegen GOD is beslissend voor het lot van de ziel na haar lichamelijke dood, een lot dat bovenmate zalig maar ook een buitengewone kwelling kan zijn.
Maar hoe zijn wil zich ook richt, de Liefde van GOD geeft nooit een ziel op. En bereikt zij haar bestemming niet in dit aardse leven, dan vertraagt zij wel haar verlossing een eindeloos lange tijd - maar eenmaal zal haar wil juist beslissen. Want de Liefde van GOD is een kracht waartegen de ziel zich niet voor eeuwig verzet.
