Reason for the spiritual decline Addiction to matter....

A major cause of people's spiritual decline is the ever-increasing addiction to matter. It is like a disease which has overtaken people, which leads to death, it is like an ever tightening shackle which threatens people's lives, for it is not earthly but spiritual life, the life of the soul, which is in danger. For the overwhelming desire for matter finds fulfillment, just as it is always the human being's own will, that determines the state of the soul. Hard matter will one day be its fate, which man so eagerly strives for. It cannot be made comprehensible to man that the desire for matter, for earthly possession, means a step backwards, for he strives for something which he had long since overcome, which meant a hard imprisonment for his soul, which was felt as lack of freedom and therefore as agony by the soul and every redemption from it, every progress in the bound state brought relief to the spiritual. And now, the human being strives for that from which his soul has fled, because it was a shackle. Everything earthly material only serves the body, but the soul, only then when it is overcome, when it stimulates the love of man to activity, to giving, to expressing oneself out of love for the neighbor. Then matter can also be useful for the life of the soul, but it must always be a detachment from it, not a desire for it in self-interest. As long as earthly goods are desired, the desire for spiritual goods does not exist or only to a very small extent, but the soul cannot take anything earthly with it into the spiritual kingdom, but certainly spiritual goods, which alone prepare a blissful state for it. If only people would consider that the next day can already end their earthly life, and that they would therefore make provisions for their stay in the spiritual kingdom.... if only they would consider that all earthly possessions are worthless to them and that what lives on in the spiritual kingdom passes over in utmost poverty, which is the human being's own fault on earth, and which he could easily have averted by collecting spiritual treasures on earth........ if he would consider that earthly life, even if it lasts a long time, is only a moment compared to eternity, but that the soul has to suffer from what the human being missed on earth.... Yet, he can only be reminded time and again of the idleness of his life, he can only be admonished time and again to think ahead and not to waste all his earthly energy on possessions, which are and remain completely worthless. He is in possession of free will and intellect, and can therefore only be instructed, but not forced to live his life in such a way that his soul will enter the spiritual kingdom in a healthy and powerful way.... This is why people will time and again be deprived of what they so ardently desire on earth, the transience of earthly possessions will time and again be brought to their attention, and blessed are those who realize that their purpose of earthly life is different from striving for earthly possessions; blessed are those who reflect and gather spiritual treasures, blessed are those who create and work for the salvation of the soul, for they will be rich and happy in the spiritual kingdom, and will now be able to create and work, because their wealth is imperishable....

Motivo do declínio espiritual Vício da matéria....

Uma causa essencial do declínio espiritual das pessoas é a dependência cada vez maior da matéria. É como uma doença que ultrapassou as pessoas, que leva à morte, é como um grilhão cada vez mais duro que ameaça a vida das pessoas, pois não é a vida terrena mas sim a espiritual, a vida da alma, que está em perigo. Pois o desejo excessivo pela matéria encontra realização, pois é sempre a própria vontade do ser humano que determina o estado em que se encontra a alma. A matéria dura será um dia o seu destino, pelo qual o ser humano tão avidamente se esforça. O ser humano não pode ser levado a compreender que o desejo pela matéria, pelos bens terrenos, significa um passo atrás, pois ele esforça-se por algo que há muito tempo tinha superado, o que significava um cativeiro duro para a sua alma, que era sentida como escravidão e, portanto, como tormento pela alma e cada libertação dela, cada progresso no estado de compulsão trouxe alívio ao espiritual.

E agora o ser humano esforça-se por aquilo de que a sua alma fugiu porque era um grilheta. Tudo o material terreno só serve o corpo, mas só a alma se for superado, se estimular o amor do ser humano à actividade, à doação, à expressão por amor ao próximo. Então a matéria também pode ser útil para a vida da alma, mas deve ser sempre um desprendimento dela, e não um desejo de si mesma no seu próprio interesse. Enquanto os bens terrenos forem desejados, o desejo de bens espirituais não existe ou existe apenas em muito pequena medida, mas a alma não pode levar nada terreno consigo para o reino espiritual, mas pode levar bens espirituais que por si só a preparam para um estado de bem-aventurança. Se ao menos as pessoas considerassem que o dia seguinte pode terminar a sua vida terrena e que, portanto, tomariam providências para a sua permanência no reino espiritual.... se ao menos considerassem que todos os bens terrenos lhes são inúteis e que o que vive no reino espiritual passa na pobreza extrema, que o ser humano na terra é responsável por si próprio, que poderia facilmente ter evitado ao recolher tesouros espirituais na terra..... se ele considerar que a vida terrena, mesmo que dure muito tempo, é apenas um momento no tempo em comparação com a eternidade, mas que a alma tem de sofrer do que o ser humano perdeu na terra.... No entanto, ele só pode ser lembrado vezes sem conta da ociosidade da sua vida, só pode ser admoestado vezes sem conta a pensar adiante e a não desperdiçar toda a energia da sua vida terrena em bens que são e permanecem completamente inúteis. Ele está na posse do livre arbítrio e do intelecto e, portanto, só pode ser instruído mas não forçado a pôr a sua vida para trás das costas de modo a que a alma entre no reino espiritual com boa saúde e cheia de força. Por conseguinte, as pessoas serão repetidamente privadas do que tão ardentemente desejam na terra, serão repetidamente alertadas para a transitoriedade dos bens terrenos, e abençoados são aqueles que reconhecem que o seu propósito de vida terrena é diferente de lutar pelos bens terrenos; abençoados são aqueles que reflectem e reúnem tesouros espirituais, abençoados são aqueles que criam e trabalham para a salvação da alma, pois serão ricos e abençoados no reino espiritual e poderão agora criar e trabalhar porque a sua riqueza é imperecível...._>Ámen
