Transformation of essence - requirement of strength - will....

The human being's will can bring about a complete transformation of his nature if he requests the strength to carry it out from God and then lets his will be followed by action. For the strength is certainly at his disposal as soon as it is requested, but the human being's will must first express itself, because a change of nature can only take place in free will if the human being makes contact with God as the giver of strength. It is therefore absolutely necessary to acknowledge God, the human being must admit his weakness to Him and thus submit to Him and humbly ask Him for His help. Then the will which has turned away from God will have turned to Him again and every deed it now accomplishes will contribute towards its transformation, for a will turned towards God can no longer do anything which is contrary to God because the strength from God underlies its activity. The connection with God is his surest protection against committing actions which are opposed to God's will. And this is why heartfelt prayer for strength must always result in spiritual progress, whereas a person without a request for strength cannot record a change in his nature, for he is too weak to carry out his will as soon as he arrogantly believes himself strong enough to do so.

He will indeed be able to carry out earthly deeds by using the life energy constantly flowing towards him, but these will only bring about a change of soul, of his essential nature, if they consist of loving activity, and this already demonstrates a will which is turned towards God, which will then also strive for unity with God. Consequently, a person who carries out unselfish deeds of love will also affirm his attitude towards God, he will be able to receive strength from God as a result of his activity of love, and the latter will then be an unconscious request for the strength at his disposal, whereas the conscious request, the prayer for strength, determines his thoughts, will and actions to work with love, so that this likewise signifies spiritual transformation. But a person can be incessantly earthly active without his activity being an activity of love, then this activity in no way contributes towards the transformation of his nature, because only vital energy flows to him but not the spiritual strength which reshapes his nature. And such a person absolutely needs prayer, he has to request this strength, which first requires his will to shape himself such as it is his task on earth. This will, however, requires that the human being recognizes a meaning and purpose of his earthly life and that he believes in an entity to Whom he has to answer. If he lacks this faith then he will never muster the will to change his nature and request the necessary strength to do so. Then he will live his earthly life completely unsuccessfully if he does not practice love of his own accord, which inevitably leads him towards realization, so that he finally establishes the right relationship with God after all, tries to adapt himself to Him and requests the necessary strength for this from the highest and most perfect being. As soon as only the will turns towards God, God also takes care of the human being, since this is already the beginning of the change of the being whose will, which is turned away from God, is the cause of his embodiment on earth. Yet the human being can increase the strength flowing towards him beyond measure as soon as he desires it and asks for it. Then he will never lack the strength to work towards his perfection, he will be able to continuously accomplish deeds of love and thereby assimilate himself to the eternal deity, and he will always more and more consciously make contact with God, for this is the characteristic of the strength from God, that it impels the human being into constant activity and leads him towards God, so that his spiritual development will proceed unhindered and he will reach his goal as long as he remains on earth....

Wandlung des Wesens - Kraftanforderung - Wille....

Der Wille des Menschen kann eine völlige Wandlung seines Wesens zuwege bringen, wenn er sich die Kraft zur Ausführung erbittet von Gott und dann seinem Willen die Tat folgen läßt. Denn ihm steht die Kraft wohl zur Verfügung, sowie sie angefordert wird, es muß jedoch erst der Wille des Menschen sich äußern, weil eine Wandlung des Wesens nur im freien Willen stattfinden kann, wenn sich der Mensch mit Gott, als dem Geber der Kraft, in Verbindung setzt. Es muß also unbedingt Gott anerkannt werden, der Mensch muß Ihm seine Schwäche eingestehen und also sich Ihm unterwerfen und Ihn in aller Demut um Seinen Beistand bitten. Dann hat sich der Gott-abgekehrte Wille Ihm wieder zugewandt, und jede Tat, die er nun vollbringt, wird zu seiner Wandlung beitragen, denn ein Gott-zugewandter Wille kann nun nichts mehr tun, was Gott-widrig ist, weil die Kraft aus Gott seinem Wirken zugrunde liegt. Die Verbindung mit Gott ist sein sicherster Schutz dafür, Handlungen zu begehen, die dem Willen Gottes entgegengerichtet sind. Und darum muß inniges Gebet um Kraft ihm stets einen geistigen Fortschritt eintragen, während ein Mensch ohne Kraftanforderung keinen Wandel seines Wesens verzeichnen kann, denn er ist zu schwach, seinen Willen zur Ausführung zu bringen, sowie er sich überheblichen Geistes stark genug dafür glaubt.

Irdische Taten zwar wird er ausführen können unter Nützung der ihm ständig zuströmenden Lebenskraft, es bringen diese aber nur dann eine Wandlung der Seele, seines Wesenhaften, zuwege, wenn sie im Liebeswirken bestehen, und dies bekundet schon einen Gott-zugewandten Willen, der auch dann die Verbindung mit Gott anstreben wird. Also wird ein Mensch, der uneigennützige Liebeswerke verrichtet, sich auch bejahend einstellen zu Gott, er wird die Kraft aus Gott empfangen können als Folge seines Liebewirkens, und es ist letzteres dann unbewußtes Anfordern der Kraft, die ihm zur Verfügung steht, während das bewußte Anfordern, das Gebet um Kraft, sein Denken, Wollen und Handeln bestimmt, in Liebe zu wirken, so daß dies gleichfalls geistige Wandlung bedeutet. Es kann aber ein Mensch unentwegt irdisch tätig sein, ohne daß seine Tätigkeit ein Liebeswirken ist, dann trägt diese Tätigkeit keineswegs zur Wandlung seines Wesens bei, weil ihm nur die Lebenskraft zuströmt, nicht aber die geistige Kraft, die sein Wesen umgestaltet. Und ein solcher Mensch hat unbedingt das Gebet nötig, er muß sich diese Kraft anfordern, was zuvor seinen Willen bedingt, sich so zu formen, wie es seine Aufgabe ist auf Erden. Dieser Wille aber hat zur Voraussetzung, daß der Mensch einen Sinn und Zweck seines Erdenlebens anerkennt und daß er an eine Wesenheit glaubt, vor Der er sich verantworten muß. Mangelt dieser Glaube, dann wird er auch niemals den Willen aufbringen zu einer Wandlung seines Wesens und die dazu nötige Kraft anfordern. Dann lebt er sein Erdenleben völlig erfolglos, so er nicht aus eigenem Antrieb die Liebe übt, die ihn unweigerlich dem Erkennen entgegenführt, so daß er zuletzt doch das rechte Verhältnis zu Gott herstellt, sich Ihm anzugleichen versucht und dazu die erforderliche Kraft von dem höchsten und vollkommensten Wesen erbittet. Sowie sich nur der Wille Gott zuwendet, nimmt Gott Sich auch des Menschen an, da dies schon der Beginn des Wandelns des Wesenhaften ist, dessen Gott-abgewandter Wille die Ursache seiner Verkörperung auf Erden ist. Doch der Mensch kann die ihm zuströmende Kraft vermehren bis ins ungemessene, sowie er sie begehrt und darum bittet. Dann wird ihm niemals die Kraft mangeln, an seiner Vollendung zu arbeiten, er wird fort und fort Liebestaten ausführen können und dadurch sich der ewigen Gottheit angleichen, und er wird stets mehr und mehr bewußt Fühlung nehmen mit Gott, denn dies ist das Merkmal der Kraft aus Gott, daß sie zu unentwegter Tätigkeit antreibt und den Menschen Gott entgegenführt, so daß seine geistige Entwicklung ungehindert vor sich geht und er sein Ziel erreicht, solange er auf Erden weilt....
