Challenges to the adversary and weapons....

You must never give yourselves over to the forces of evil, for your will determines its power over you. As soon as this will is turned towards God you are immune to his attacks and you will not be so exposed to his temptations. Yet he only lurks for moments when this will is weak in order to gain influence over him. Therefore watch and pray.... never feel so strong that you do not need to fear him, but know that he constantly lurks around you and tries to turn you away from God. For he knows about the weaknesses of the individual and uses them in such a way that the human being is in danger if he does not remain in constant contact with God through heartfelt prayer and loving activity. Where love is practiced, the enemy encounters stiff resistance, for there his efforts are fruitless. Loving activity is the surest way to banish him from the vicinity. God's adversary leaves a person who is active in love unmolested because he is so closely united with God through his activity of love that all power of the adversary is shattered. For love is God, and he can no longer successfully fight against God. The will to do good is likewise a strong weapon against him, only lukewarmness and sluggishness are a great danger, for they signify weakness of will and are welcome opportunities for God's adversary to bring his power to bear. He is immediately prepared to reinforce the weak-willed state by presenting the human being with pleasures which are intended to captivate his senses and turn him away from that which alone is worth striving for.... from union with God.... He seeks to disturb the intimacy of prayer and to gain influence over people's thinking. If he succeeds, man loses himself in superficialities, his spiritual striving weakens and his power to resist diminishes. A person who strives towards God will indeed fight his way through again, but it is lost time which is irreplaceable, for every ascent is arduous and therefore all the more difficult the deeper the person sinks. Therefore watch and pray, do not let up in your striving towards God, call upon Him for His help and thus deny the adversary access to you. Remain active in love and thereby resist his efforts, then you will always have the strength to fend him off and withdraw yourselves from his influence....

Desafios do Adversário e das Armas....

Nunca vos deveis entregar às forças do mal, pois a vossa vontade determina o poder delas sobre vós. Assim que essa vontade se voltar para Deus, você estará imune aos seus ataques e não estará tão exposto às suas tentações. Mas ele só espreita por momentos quando essa vontade é fraca, a fim de ganhar influência sobre ele. Portanto, veja e reze.... Nunca se sinta tão forte que não precise temê-lo, mas saiba que ele está constantemente à sua espera e tenta afastá-lo de Deus. Pois ele conhece as fraquezas do indivíduo e as usa de tal forma que o ser humano está em perigo se não permanecer em contato constante com Deus através da oração sincera e da atividade amorosa. Onde o amor é praticado, o inimigo encontra dura resistência, pois ali os seus esforços são infrutíferos. Amar é a forma mais segura de o banir das redondezas. O adversário de Deus deixa uma pessoa amorosa sem contestação porque está tão intimamente unida a Deus através de sua atividade de amor que todo o poder do adversário se rompe. Pois o amor é Deus e ele não pode mais lutar com sucesso contra Deus. A vontade de fazer o bem é também uma arma forte contra ele, só a tibieza e a preguiça são um grande perigo, pois significam fraqueza de vontade e são oportunidades bem-vindas para o adversário de Deus trazer o seu poder. Ele está imediatamente pronto para reforçar o estado de vontade débil, colocando confortos diante dos olhos do ser humano que se destinam a cativar os seus sentidos e afastá-lo daquilo que só por si é desejável.... da união com Deus.... Ele procura perturbar a intimidade da oração e ganhar influência no pensamento das pessoas. Se ele conseguir, o ser humano perde-se em superficialidades, o seu esforço espiritual torna-se mais fraco e a sua força para resistir diminui. Uma pessoa que se esforça para Deus certamente se esforça novamente, mas é o tempo perdido que é insubstituível, pois cada subida é árdua e, portanto, tanto mais difícil quanto mais profunda a pessoa se afunda. Portanto, observe e ore, não se afrouxe em sua luta para Deus, invoque o Seu apoio e assim negue o acesso do adversário a você. Permaneçam ativos no amor e assim se oponham aos seus esforços, então terão sempre a força para afastá-lo e se retirarem da sua influência._>Amém
