Earthly environment, skills and knowledge irrelevant to the maturing of the soul....

The environment in which the soul lives through its embodiment on earth is irrelevant to its higher development. It is also completely irrelevant which earthly abilities the human being possesses and on which level he stands in earthly knowledge. A person can have the highest earthly merits, he can be well versed in all earthly fields and abilities, he can also have a high degree of knowledge, and yet he can be significantly lower spiritually than a person who does not have all these merits in earthly life and is spiritually very highly developed; indeed, spiritual maturity is often far more recognizable where all earthly merits are eliminated, for these people are more inward and more connected to God because they are not affected in their soul's work by any external influences. It sometimes seems as if a well-formed soul can only dwell in a well-formed body, as if truth can only be where wisdom is taught or received, and as if the degree of knowledge depends on a person's more or less highly developed intellectual thinking, and yet precisely these apparent advantages can be an obstacle which calls the human being's maturing into question.... A person whose thinking is otherwise sharp and logical can make the greatest errors in spiritual matters, but error will never lead to spiritual progress. Only a life of love brings such progress, and therefore a person does not need to have any worldly recognized advantages and can still stand on a very high spiritual level because love is inherent in him, but only love truly elevates a person. The will to serve God can be just as strongly developed in a person who is earthly quite small and lowly, for precisely this will attracts God as eternal love, but this first helps the person or his soul to spiritual maturity, and thus a well-formed soul can develop far more easily in a person who does not divide his attention between spiritual and earthly experiences. He has it a little easier, so to speak, because the temptations from outside do not assail him in such a way, whereas the man of the world who has extraordinary abilities but does not use them for the salvation of his soul can lag far behind that soul....

Ambiente terrestre, habilidades e conhecimentos irrelevantes para o amadurecimento da alma....

Ela não tem importância para o desenvolvimento superior da alma em que vive através da sua encarnação na Terra. Também é completamente irrelevante quais habilidades terrenas o ser humano possui e em que nível ele se encontra no conhecimento terreno. Uma pessoa pode ter os mais altos méritos terrenos, pode ser bem versada em todas as áreas e habilidades terrenas, pode também ter um alto grau de conhecimento e, no entanto, pode ser consideravelmente mais baixa espiritualmente do que uma pessoa que não possui todos esses méritos na vida terrena e é espiritualmente muito desenvolvida; de fato, a maturidade espiritual é muitas vezes muito mais reconhecível onde todos os méritos terrenos são eliminados, pois essas pessoas são mais interiormente e ligadas a Deus, porque o seu trabalho de alma não é prejudicado por nenhuma influência externa. Por vezes parece que uma alma bem formada só pode habitar num corpo bem formado, como se a verdade só pode estar onde a sabedoria é ensinada ou recebida, e como se o grau de conhecimento depende do pensamento intelectual mais ou menos desenvolvido do ser humano e, no entanto, precisamente essas vantagens aparentes podem ser um obstáculo que põe em causa a maturidade do ser humano.... O ser humano, cujo pensamento de outra forma é aguçado e consistente, pode representar o maior erro precisamente em assuntos espirituais, mas o erro nunca ajudará o progresso espiritual. Somente uma vida de amor a realizará e, portanto, o ser humano não precisa ter nenhum mérito mundano reconhecido e, ainda assim, pode permanecer em um nível espiritual muito elevado, porque o amor é inerente a ele, mas somente isso verdadeiramente eleva o ser humano. A vontade de servir a Deus pode ser desenvolvida com a mesma força numa pessoa que é terrena muito pequena e humilde, porque precisamente essa vontade atrai a Deus como amor eterno, mas isso primeiro ajuda a pessoa ou a sua alma a amadurecer espiritualmente e assim uma alma bem formada pode se desenvolver muito mais cedo numa pessoa que não divide a sua atenção entre a experiência espiritual e terrena. De certa forma, ele tem um tempo mais fácil porque os desafios de fora não o assaltam tanto, enquanto a pessoa mundana que tem habilidades extraordinárias mas não as usa para a salvação da sua alma pode estar muito atrás dessa alma...._>Amém
