Connecting the soul with the spiritual....

Man need only imagine that his soul longs for liberation and he will muster all his will to help it out of captivity. The soul of man is likewise spiritual, which is to find the way to God.... it is a substance that feels comfortable in freedom and perceives the form that envelops it as a terrible constraint. As long as it has not yet found the right path, it is without any bond with the spiritual substance that has emerged from God, but it alone is an unfree, tormented being that only attains a certain freedom in union with the spirit. As long as the soul fulfils the desire of the body, its state is an unfree one; only when it enters into the desire of the spirit does it become freer, and when it now strives for complete union with it, it releases itself from the constraint of being bound. In order to now complete this process the will for the final unification with the spiritual has to be exceptionally strong, the soul, therefore all thinking, feeling and wanting in man, has to be directed only towards living according to this aim, it is therefore no longer allowed to live earth life without a plan but it has to get in touch with those powers which help it with the work, which is now only to be the only task, because the soul is weakened in its will. It can only master this work on itself with support. It first has to make use of the power for it, which God however puts at its disposal unmeasured, only the will of the soul has to become active to receive it. And it has to accomplish this activity of will itself; it has to carry the desire to ascend, the desire for a free, unbound state, through the desire for it it has to express its will to want to become again what it was and what its actual destiny is, then the path is also open to it, for it will be supported in its endeavour, it will be given strength and can now take the path upwards unhindered, it can shape itself such that a unification with the spirit from God is the result of its striving.... It can give up its unfree state and leave the last earthly form as a completely free being....

Verbindung der Seele mit dem Geistigen....

Es braucht sich der Mensch nur vorzustellen, daß sich seine Seele nach der Befreiung, sehnt und er wird allen Willen aufbieten, ihr zu helfen aus der Gefangenschaft. Es ist die Seele des Menschen gleichfalls Geistiges, das den Weg zu Gott finden soll.... sie ist Substanz, die sich in Ungebundenheit wohl fühlt und die sie umhüllende Form als furchtbaren Zwang empfindet. Sie ist ohne jegliche Bindung mit dem aus Gott hervorgegangenen Geistigen, solange sie den rechten Weg noch nicht gefunden hat, ist aber allein ein unfreies, gequältes Wesen, das nur in der Vereinigung mit dem Geist erst in eine gewisse Freiheit gelangt. Solange die Seele dem Verlangen des Körpers entspricht, ist ihr Zustand ein unfreier; erst das Eingehen in das Verlangen des Geistes macht sie freier, und so sie nun die völlige Vereinigung mit ihm anstrebt, löst sie sich aus dem Zwang der Gebundenheit. Um nun diesen Prozeß zu Ende zu führen, muß der Wille zur endgültigen Vereinigung mit dem Geistigen außergewöhnlich stark sein, es muß die Seele, also alles Denken, Fühlen und Wollen im Menschen, nur darauf gerichtet sein, diesem Ziel entsprechend zu leben, sie darf also das Erdenleben nicht mehr planlos leben, sondern sie muß sich mit jenen Kräften in Verbindung setzen, die ihr behilflich sind bei der Arbeit, die nun nur noch einzige Aufgabe sein soll, denn die Seele ist geschwächt in ihrem Willen. Sie kann diese Arbeit an sich selbst nur meistern mit Unterstützung. Sie muß erst die Kraft dazu in Anspruch nehmen, die ihr Gott jedoch ungemessen zur Verfügung stellt, nur muß zur Entgegennahme dieser der Wille der Seele tätig werden. Und diese Tätigkeit des Willens muß sie selbst leisten; sie muß Verlangen tragen nach oben, Verlangen nach einem freien, ungebundenen Zustand, sie muß durch das Verlangen danach ihren Willen bekunden, wieder das werden zu wollen, was sie war und was ihre eigentliche Bestimmung ist, dann steht ihr auch der Weg frei, denn sie wird in ihrem Vorhaben unterstützt, sie wird mit Kraft bedacht und kann nun ungehindert den Weg zur Höhe nehmen, sie kann sich so bilden, daß eine Vereinigung mit dem Geist aus Gott die Folge ihres Strebens ist.... Sie kann ihren unfreien Zustand aufgeben und die letzte irdische Form verlassen als völlig freies Wesen....
