Thought currents.... Prerequisites for easy acceptance of spiritual knowledge....

In order to perceive the thought currents clearly and distinctly, the external human being must be completely governed by the spirit; the separation from the earth must have taken place and the union with the beyond must have been established, only then will the human being's thoughts be able to move in spiritual spheres, and the voice from the spiritual world will sound distinctly and audibly in the person's heart. However, as long as the body is held captive by earthly fetters which prevent the soul's escape from the body into spiritual spheres, the spirit in the person cannot become active. Therefore, a long struggle must precede first in order to achieve this detached state.... in order for the body to achieve a state of being gentle and patient and of allowing the soul's every flight into higher spheres. Thus, the first condition in order to be able to accept spiritual knowledge easily and without effort is that the spirit must not feel impeded by anything. It certainly requires considerable self-denial in order to accomplish, yet the pleasure of the reward will be accordingly great. All opportunities will remain unused if the expansion of the divine spirit in the human being is not taken care of first. People's spirit will forever remain gagged if they take no action to liberate their soul for good.... As yet the soul is still constrained and therefore cannot grasp the spiritual deeply enough, thus it requires all your will to desire receipt from above so that your will can be complied with; nevertheless, the soul can liberate itself much sooner where love for the divine Redeemer flares up in a heart, for that is where the spirit clearly strives for unity with the eternal Deity. But where the writer or recipient is seized by a certain spiritual lethargy it will be difficult for him to establish contact and it must, in a manner of speaking, be laboriously achieved through perseverance, otherwise it can never lead to the goal which, however, should be all people's ultimate striving. And the spirit will understandably be in serious difficulties, for it will be prevented from reigning and taking effect according to its purpose....

Gedankenströmungen.... Bedingungen zur leichten Aufnahme von Geistesgut....

Um die Gedankenströmungen klar und deutlich wahrzunehmen, muß der Geist den äußeren Menschen völlig beherrschen, die Trennung von der Erde muß stattgefunden haben und die Vereinigung mit dem Jenseits eingegangen sein, dann erst wird das Denken des Menschen sich in geistigen Sphären bewegen können, und es wird deutlich vernehmbar die Stimme aus der geistigen Welt im Herzen des Menschen tönen. Solange jedoch der Körper gefangengehalten ist durch irdische Fesseln und dadurch der Seele das Entfliehen aus dem Körper in geistige Regionen verhindert, kann auch der Geist im Menschen nicht tätig werden. Es muß daher erst lange Zeit gerungen werden, um ebenden losgelösten Zustand zu erreichen.... um zu erreichen, daß der Körper sanft und duldsam ist und der Seele jeden Flug zur Höhe gestattet. Und das ist erste Bedingung, um Geistesgut leicht und mühelos in Empfang nehmen zu können, daß sich der Geist durch nichts verhindert fühlen darf. Es gehört wohl eine starke Selbstüberwindung dazu, doch ist auch der Lohn dementsprechend beglückend. Und es bleiben alle Möglichkeiten ungenützt, wenn nicht zuerst für die Entfaltung des göttlichen Geistes im Menschen Sorge getragen wird. In immerwährender Knebelung des Geistes verharren alle die Menschen, die nichts unternehmen zur endgültigen Befreiung der Seele.... Noch ist die Seele in Banden und kann somit das Geistige nicht tief genug erfassen, und es bedarf des ganzen Willen deinerseits, daß der Empfang von oben begehrt wird und somit deinem Willen entsprochen werden kann, doch es wird sich die Seele viel eher frei machen, wo die Liebe zum göttlichen Heiland im Herzen entbrennt, denn dort strebt der Geist offensichtlich nach Vereinigung mit der ewigen Gottheit. Wo sich jedoch des Schreibenden oder Empfangenden eine gewisse geistige Trägheit bemächtigt, wird es ihm auch schwer werden, eine Verbindung herzustellen, und es muß gleichsam durch Ausdauer mühsam errungen werden und kann sonst niemals zu dem Ziel führen, das aber letztes Streben aller Menschen sein soll. Und es wird der Geist erklärlicherweise in arger Not sein, denn er ist gehindert, so zu walten und zu wirken, wie es seine Bestimmung ist....
