Danger of self-love.... Love for God and neighbour....

In every time the Lord God has consolations ready for you, which He then gives you in full measure when you turn to Him in trust. Where the Lord Himself takes care of every being in this way, you experience his grace daily.... He directs your hearts steadfastly towards the Eternal when you strive only for this. But a tiny measure of self-love already weakens the great power of grace that the Lord conveys to you. For if one puts his own ego first, he will hardly enter the right way or remain on it. For love of God and of neighbor is the highest commandment that encompasses everything.... should you not first try to fulfill this commandment?....

But then you must not put yourself in the foreground.... All you have and are is given to you by God; and in the same measure you are to give back to your fellow men.... you are to consider them with all that you value yourself, before you think of yourself, and thus love your neighbor as yourself. In the same way, you also have a share in the divine grace to the same extent which the Lord attributes to you as you have equally attributed to your neighbor. Try yourselves in this highest duty; life on earth will then still offer you such incomparably beautiful things.... in that the way to the Father becomes easy for you and you, always standing in the circle of light of divine love, can form yourselves for eternity....

A short prayer for strength for all right actions will also make this commandment appear easily executable to you, and in a lively exchange of ideas with your spiritual friends, you will penetrate deeper and deeper into the love and wisdom of God, and you will learn to look at everything on earth with spiritual eyes.... The commandment of love will stimulate you to utmost activity until the end of your life, and then you have not uselessly walked the way on earth, but you have helped your soul to advance. What you have done to your neighbor in love, has already been richly rewarded to you in yourselves, so that through this you have reached a more perfect state and have earned the reward of heaven....

Perigo do amor-próprio.... Amor de Deus e do próximo....

Em todos os momentos o Senhor Deus tem conforto reservado para você, que Ele lhe dará na medida total se você confiar nEle. Onde o Senhor cuida de cada ser desta maneira, você experimenta a Sua graça todos os dias.... Ele dirige os vossos corações com firmeza para o Eterno, se é só por isso que vos esforçais. Mas uma pequena medida de amor-próprio já enfraquece a grande força da graça que o Senhor vos dá. Pois se apenas um coloca o seu próprio ego em primeiro lugar, dificilmente entrará no caminho certo ou permanecerá nele. Porque o amor a Deus e ao próximo é o mandamento mais elevado que engloba tudo..... Você não deveria primeiro tentar cumprir este mandamento? .... Mas então não se devem colocar em primeiro.... Tudo o que você tem e é dado a você por Deus; e na mesma medida você deve devolver aos seus semelhantes.... deveis considerá-los com tudo o que é digno de vós mesmos, antes de pensardes em vós mesmos, e assim amardes o vosso próximo como a vós mesmos. Deste modo, também vós participareis da graça divina que o Senhor vos concede, na mesma medida em que repartis com o vosso próximo. Tente a sua mão neste dever mais elevado, então a vida na Terra irá oferecer-lhe uma beleza ainda mais incomparável.... facilitando-lhes o caminho para o Pai e, sempre no círculo de luz do amor divino, podem educar-se para a eternidade.... Uma breve oração por força para todas as ações corretas também fará com que este mandamento pareça fácil para você cumprir, e em uma animada troca de pensamentos com seus amigos espirituais você penetrará cada vez mais profundamente no amor e sabedoria de Deus, e aprenderá a olhar para tudo na Terra com olhos espirituais.... O mandamento do amor vos estimulará à atividade máxima até o fim da vossa vida, e então não tereis percorrido inutilmente o caminho na Terra, mas tereis ajudado a vossa alma a progredir. O que fizestes pelo vosso próximo apaixonado já foi amplamente recompensado em vós mesmos, se assim alcançastes um estado mais perfeito e adquiristes a recompensa do céu....
