1830 Redemption in the depths.... resistance.... banishing again....

February 25, 1941: Book 27

Divine love and mercy descends to the deepest depths in order to bring redemption to the souls that are accessible to God's love and mercy. All spiritual beings in the lower regions can reach the heights if they do not resist when the ray of light from above reaches them. Souls who have suffered the deepest hardship and torment for ages experience this ray of light as a lightning-like blessing, and this moment can awaken in them the desire for such a permanent state of well-being. A brief introspection can make the soul receptive to the influence of beings of light who are concerned about it, and once this has been achieved the soul is wrested from the darkness, for once such thoughts have been grasped they no longer leave the souls, even though the struggle of such souls is unspeakably difficult. These souls wrested from the darkness find each other and give each other courage and hope, thus also helping each other to ascend. They are, however, also tremendously oppressed by the dark power, but precisely this spurs them on to come out of their realm, and they strive towards every glimmer of light in order to escape this power. But the desire for light also allows them to receive help, and thus they are not helplessly at the mercy of the dark power if only the desire for light has awakened in them. Often, however, God's love and mercy is completely rejected, then the spirits of the underworld rejoice and let out their satanic power on each other. They inflict every conceivable evil on each other and thus fall ever deeper, that is, the distance from God becomes ever greater, and then there is hardly any hope of salvation for such souls, for if no improvement is achieved through the most inconceivable torments this satanic spirit has to be bound anew because it does not prove itself worthy of its freedom, because it has abused it again and resists God once more....

If the soul knew about the unspeakable suffering and torments which the spell in the fixed form will again inflict on it through immemorial times it would do everything to change before it is too late, for these torments are too unbearable even for the most hardened souls and again the only means to force them into obedience; yet since all compulsion is eliminated they have to take the torments upon themselves, for every concession by God was rejected. Time and again it is the being's free will which determines them to reject, and therefore this will has to be chained again so that its resistance against God is put an end to. It is the most dreadful thing that can happen to the being if it has to take the same path on earth again through centuries of millennia, if it has to go through the same thing again which already seemed unbearable to it during its first earthly progress.... And yet he cannot be spared it because his own will has striven for it and all conceivable means of help were in vain. It is the night of death that imprisons such beings for endless times.... impenetrable darkness, extremely burdensome shackles and a state of complete powerlessness, an eternal wait for liberation. This agonizing state lasts until the being decides to give up its rebelliousness against God; only then does the process of development upwards begin again, for God's love will not let any being fall, only that the being often prolongs its agonizing earthly state itself through its rebelliousness. And the lord of heaven and earth would like to shorten this infinitely long agony or free the being from it completely, and therefore He tries in every possible way to snatch His living creations from this dreadful fate, and therefore God's goodness and love is always ready and admits it, that countless mature beings take care of the earthly children and bring them physical and spiritual help, and if this has been of no use on earth the beings of light still pursue such hardened people into the beyond and there try to soften and subdue the beings' will and awaken the desire for light in them. However, if they themselves head towards darkness by virtue of their free will, they determine their own fate. God wants to and can give people everything, but not a happy life in the hereafter in all its glory without their will.... He must let this will become active himself, otherwise he does not respect the will and it must now be completely taken away from him again for eternal times....

Amen
