Unsterblichkeit der Seele....

Gedenket dessen, was mit eurer Seele wird nach dem Tode des Leibes; versuchet euch vorzustellen, daß es kein Ende gibt für das, was in euch denkt, fühlt und will, und daß die Seele nicht sterben kann. Stellet es euch vor, wenn ihr es noch nicht fest glauben könnet. Dann wird euch ein Unbehagen befallen, weil die Seele es fühlt, daß kein schönes Los sie erwartet, weil der Glaube an ein Fortleben auch einen anderen Lebenswandel gezeitigt hätte, einen Wandel in Liebe, wie aber auch ein Wandel in Liebe ihr den Glauben eingetragen hätte. Jeder Mensch weiß es, daß er sterben muß dem Leibe nach, doch ein Weiterleben der Seele kann nicht als feststehendes Wissen gelehrt werden. Dennoch kann es im Menschen Überzeugung werden auch ohne Beweis. Und diese Überzeugung bestimmt nun sein Denken, Wollen und Handeln. Dann lebt der Mensch bewußt.... bewußt seiner Aufgabe, sich auf Erden zur Höhe zu entwickeln und seinem Reifegrad entsprechend der Seele das Los im Jenseits zu bereiten.... Dann gedenket er des Lebens der Seele nach dem Tode und ist auch immer bereit, das irdische Leben mit dem Leben im geistigen Reich zu vertauschen, weil er weiß, daß es keinen ewigen Tod gibt, nur einen Wandel des Aufenthaltsortes für die Seele. Ein jeder Mensch, der guten Willens ist, fühlt es auch, daß er nicht nur für diese Erde lebt, und sein Glaube wird stets tiefer und überzeugter. Denn wer guten Willens ist, der widerstrebt nicht den Hinweisen, die ihm durch Gottes Liebe immer wieder geboten werden und sein Denken anregen. Wer guten Willens ist, der pfleget auch die Liebe, und also wird er gestärkt in seinem Glauben und verlangt nach Licht, das auch in ihm entzündet wird. Ein jeder Mensch kann glauben an ein Fortleben der Seele, wenn er es will, wenn er verlangend nach der Wahrheit diesbezügliche Gedanken in sich bewegt und Aufschluß begehrt.... Doch das Verneinen-Wollen eines Fortlebens wird stets ein Hindernis sein zum Glauben, weil dann schon die Kräfte der Finsternis den Menschen beherrschen, die jegliches Licht hassen. Gehet nicht achtlos über eure Gedanken hinweg, so sie euch an das Leben der Seele nach dem Tode gemahnen.... Suchet zu ergründen, aber verwerfet nicht alle Gedanken, so sie euch berühren. Denn ohne den Willen zur Wahrheit könnet ihr nicht dazu gelangen, ohne das Verlangen danach könnet ihr nicht belehrt werden. Es gibt ein Leben nach dem Tode, und dieses Leben gestaltet ihr euch selbst auf Erden, ihr selbst schaffet der Seele das Los in der Ewigkeit und sollet darum sorgen, daß sie nicht dem geistigen Tode verfalle, der qualvoll ist, aber niemals ein Nicht-Sein bedeutet. Denn die Seele ist das Wirkliche im Menschen und bleibt bestehen, wenn auch der Leib vergeht.... Denket darüber nach, auf daß ihr zum Glauben gelanget, auf daß ihr die innere Überzeugung gewinnet, daß wohl der Leib sterben kann, die Seele aber unvergänglich ist....

Immortality of the soul....

Think about what will happen to your soul after the death of the body; try to imagine that there is no end to what you think, feel and want and that the soul cannot die. Imagine it if you cannot yet firmly believe it. Then you will feel uneasy because the soul will feel that no beautiful fate awaits it, because the belief in a continuation of life would also have resulted in a different way of life, a change in love, but just as a change in love would also have earned it faith. Every person knows that he has to die after the body, yet the soul's continued life cannot be taught as definite knowledge. Nevertheless, it can become a conviction in the human being even without proof. And this conviction now determines his thinking, willing and acting. Then the human being lives consciously.... conscious of his task to develop upwards on earth and to prepare the soul's fate in the beyond according to his degree of maturity.... Then he thinks of the soul's life after death and is also always willing to exchange earthly life with life in the spiritual kingdom, because he knows that there is no eternal death, only a change of abode for the soul. Every person of good will also feels that he does not only live for this earth, and his faith becomes ever deeper and more convinced. For anyone of good will does not resist the indications which are repeatedly offered to him through God's love and stimulate his thinking. Anyone of good will also cultivates love, and thus he is strengthened in his faith and longs for light which is also kindled in him. Every person can believe in the soul's continuation of life if he wants to, if he desires the truth, if he thinks about it and desires clarification.... However, the denial of the will to live on will always be an obstacle to faith, because then the human being will already be dominated by the forces of darkness which hate all light. Do not carelessly pass over your thoughts if they remind you of the life of the soul after death.... Seek to fathom but do not reject all thoughts if they touch you. For without the will for truth you cannot attain it, without the desire for it you cannot be taught. There is life after death and you shape this life for yourselves on earth, you yourselves create the soul's fate in eternity and should ensure that it does not fall prey to spiritual death, which is agonizing but never signifies non-existence. For the soul is the real thing in the human being and continues to exist even if the body passes away.... Think about it so that you will come to believe, so that you will gain the inner conviction that the body can indeed die but the soul is everlasting....
